Ads? What are those :)
Booklets containing nothing but underwear ads used to be remarkably popular before Bill Gates invented the internet.

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.
Keep calm, and carry on posting.

Especially on school play grounds 😀 before ARPANET and then Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web.
Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

I edited the post to add a /s, which is what I usually do after making a terrible factual misspeak.
I posted a comment in the things that annoyed me thread that underpants without sufficient labelling or obvious design clues as to what is the front and what is the back have a 50:50 probability of being extremely uncomfortable, and was mercilessly mocked for my stupidity by my heartlessly cruel fellow posters on GZ. In fact it's greater than 50:50 chance, like skidmarks from vegemite on falling toast on bedsheets on a Sunday morning, or a USB plug.

Has Sir browsed Messrs Marks & Spencer?
I find their underwear excellent both in terms of longevity and comfort, as well as reasonably priced. Ditto their socks, btw.
They ship here.
Hi.
I had looked there, but I see now that all the "good" stuff, doesn't show up if you say you are from NZ. For example:
These look perfect I think, but not available to ship here!

No idea why that particular one won't. Many will.
If you want them and can wait, I have people coming out next year in March who could hand carry.

So, I have found two candidates in case anyone was interested.
One is Jockey Skants. They aren't the heavier duty material of the original MacPherson Men but are very comfortable. I found them at Farmers who were having a 50% off sale which made them very inexpensive (under $15). The only issue is that they mix black and bright coloured ones in the same pack, I prefer my underwear all the same and ideally in black.
Bendon have Hiedi Klum Men Supima trunks which I bought 3 pairs of. They are a slightly different material but are similar and heavier duty than the old HK Man series.
Both pairs are comfortable enough I don't "notice" I am wearing them and both under $20 a pair if purchased in packs of 3.
Nothing I have found is as good as what I had, unfortunately.
I am also going to bring in some Hanes Comfortsoft trunks to see what they are like.
Late to the party (so to speak) - but I went to the Icebreak boxers but am now enjoying the Macpac boxers.
Both are merino / merino mixed with some elastane. They still have a band, but the band has never bothered me.
Icebreaker I found didn't last well and in later editions made the "pouch" basically non-existant (which made them uncomfortable to me)
The only complaint I have with MacPac so far is the cost. (I wait for the sales).
I have skin issues and have problems with the elastic on underwear as well.
My goto at the moment is
They come in twin packs in a range of different colours.
I've been getting them for probably 10 years and just wait until Farmers have a sale on undies.
I tried those chisel this weekend and returned them in favour of more pairs of the Jockey Skants which are a thicker more "structured" material. Only way I can describe that is material that keeps it's shape somewhat.
Years ago I had a pair of very lightweight, white cotton long pants. I used to wear white briefs under them because you could see dark briefs through the fabric of the pants.
One time we were away on holiday and I wanted to wear them out for dinner but had forgotten to take any white briefs away with me. My wife jokingly suggested that I wear a pair of her white knickers under my pants. Much to our young son’s amusement, I did that - partly as a joke - and I found them very comfortable. I can recommend it - but I didn’t continue the practice. 😀👍
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Are you going to post pics of you wearing them?
I'd be extremely surprised if anyone actually wanted to see that :)
I have to say that the HK Supima ones are actually pretty good. Have worn 2 pairs over 2 days and pleasantly had nothing to report, so they are doing their job unnoticeably.
So 2+ years in wearing these:

My review is that they are 90% as good as the original I was wearing, and good enough I'll continue to buy them. The band is soft, and the material has proven to be pretty durable.
I'd recommend it.
I've found that the Bendon branded trunks aren't lasting as long as the old HK Men ones. The elastic gives out after a couple of months.
I like the M&S Autograph branded ones, but they don't usually deliver to NZ so I picked up mine in the UK and Singapore.
Currently liking the Mazoni branded ones from Farmers. Especially when they've got a 40% of weekend.
