BlinkyBill:

Who would try this scam for $1? Is it to identify foolish people, and then go for higher $?

I'm picking it's not the $1 they are after, it's your credit card details.

Person forwarded Email to me.

Just a coincidence that they got it after my parcel, details did not match In Email, it was similar to posts here.

Someone at work also got same email, I showed posts here and told them not to pay.

Can change title of thread if appropriate, since found out nothing to do with NZ Post.

Thanks.

I've been receiving these for a while, strangely to my old hotmail address which I don't really use for anything anymore.

But they're annoyingly persistent and I am receiving the same email quite frequently, thankfully it's now being picked up as spam

With so many people using courier deliveries for online purchases, these spam/fishing emails are actually quite cunning.
Many people are expecting goods every few days/weeks, so the chance of it coniciding with an expected parcel are pretty good.

Of course the $1 figure is not what they are after, they want your credit card details so they can hurt you big time😡

I do wonder if all these scams are eventually going to mean the end to open email as we know it. Many companies these days don't provide any email addresses to customers these days, and have their email going through a ticketing system. Many people would be falling victim to them. I wonder what the true figures are.
