I don't like commercials and if you ask me all of them are annoying. I have stopped to watch tv because of that before 5,6 years, and focus only on the internet. By in few last years, adds are all over internet, especially on youtube. terrible...

Haven’t seen an add for ages. If there’s some super cleaner out there don’t know about it.

The odd time I see TV on demand see an add, only thing was watching on Freeview is Doctor Who, which I’ve stopped watching as decided load of rubbish.

Have You Tube Premium ( more for music in the car Bluetooth) so no adds there either. If only Freeview had option to buy out of adds, though I can fast forward fast enough not to hardly notice them, just the nuisance of the program break.

Prime Video annoys me how sometimes they put an advert at beginning of program for another one, hasn’t happened last couple of times, looking at unsubscribing when Picard finishes.

My viewing is pretty much entirely paid streaming services (not TVNZ/TV3 on demand), a couple of the ad-free Sky channels or my Plex server these days. I rarely see ads at all (sometimes before programmes on Sky, but fast-forwarding makes those tolerable), and pretty much never watch anything that has ad breaks.

However, we decided to watch the TVNZ news on the weekend because we wanted to see what they were saying about coronavirus in NZ. I think it was the first time either of us had watched broadcast TV since we were in the US around six months ago.

The ads were incessant, jarring, loud and infantile. I forgot just how bad they can be. We lasted two ad breaks before we turned the TV off in horror/disgust.

I'm surprised that broadcast TV has any audience at all, let alone one the size it claims to have. I think if I had no other TV options, I still wouldn't bother with it. And I certainly wouldn't without a recorder that would let me zip through the ads, but even that is too annoying to bother with nowadays. In fact, the aerial feed to my main TV hasn't worked for over 12 months - I think it's just a bad/disconnected fly-lead, but care so little about FTA TV I haven't got around to checking/fixing it yet.

How on earth anyone sits through a TV show, let alone a full movie, on FTA TV is beyond me. It's impossible to follow any sort of plot when interrupted every 6-7 minutes for another 4 minutes of shouty drivel scripted at the level of a three year old. It's far to unpleasant to be a recreational activity.

With so many people skipping ads, it's not surprising that Mediaworks is having to divest Three. Personally I can't see how they are going to find a buyer who can make it viable.

Most of the programmes that we watch are recordings and we skip through all ads for this very reason.

I find the Skinny ad with the actors Ben Afflick and Julia Roberts annoying

...that was too much and I gave up broadcast TV more than 2 years ago!

Beat you to that by about four decades.

The Chase and One News are generally that gets watched in our house, so I'm not familiar with most of the ad's being spoken of here. Ad breaks on those two programs are used for things like making a cuppa or getting rid of a previous one :-)

I don't think my almost 8 year-old has ever actually watched free-to-air TV. It's all YouTube, Netflix, Plex or Disney+.

Streaming services have killed broadcast TV for me, I honestly couldn't tell you the last time I watched it.

So I could say I hate all adds, but actually never being exposed to them they don't bother me at all.

I do listen to the radio a bit in the mornings but starting to abandon that too, just talking and adds with the occasional song sprinkled in.

Fortunately plenty of excellent commercial-free streaming radio and of course National Radio here. My vote goes to Best Smooth Jazz FM in London, broadcast from the home of the DJ!

Ads aren't 10 minutes unless you're watching so late that you're in the informercial block.

Stuff, the Herald, Guardian Weekly.  Before news on the internet, like the 1980's, I used to read a lot of magazines.
