I had a package sent from Brisbane, sat there from 8th April and arrived in NZ on 21st April so considerable delays due to lack of flights
I've got a package from the US (LA) which made it out to Aus pretty quick (3 days) and is now sitting in SYD "on hold", likely pending the next available flight. Target delivery date is 06 May.
I had a package from Kogan Australia which sat on "label created" for a whole week before being picked up.
CourierPost's overnight service has been absolutely faultless during all of this, which is quite incredible when you think about it.
I have a package that has been stuck in San Francisco since the 19th of April.
Hopefully there is some movement soon as it's rather essential.

I had a few parcels during level 4 that were all fine - but with the return to level 3 I've heard some anecdotal reports of them (and other courier and freight companies) simply being swamped.
I have a Courierpost parcel picked up on Thu that does show as overnight delivery that's currently showing as an estimated delivery of the 5/5, but hopefully that'll show up on Monday.
With things such as the huge easter egg sale at The Warehouse and free shipping it's going be chaos. I ordered quite a few things from this and will have enough Lindt bunnies to last until Xmas. 😀
So far I've received shipping notifications for 2 packages that both have 1 or 2 items in them, I think in total I had ordered around 20 items so it'll be interesting to see how many individual packages this is!
I ordered a heart rate monitor from Garmin on Tuesday and it arrived two days later. I was pleasantly surprised considering that it was dispatched from Australia.

Not my experience:
28/4/2020 10:40 Collected from sender Albany
29/4/2020 23:34 Processing at depot East Tamaki
30/4/2020 00:19 Processing at depot East Tamaki
01/5/2020 19:23 Processing at depot East Tamaki
01/5/2020 20:30 Processing at depot East Tamaki
And there it sits. I live in Wellington region, so if it does the same thing if/when it finally gets down here, I'll never see it inside a week...
I also have a package coming from the US; the tracking code I was given loads a DHL page; it's been waiting in NYC since 22nd April:
ARRIVED AT EXPORT FACILITY
Wed, April 22, 2020 at 4:42 PM ET
New York, NY, US
[And it took 6 days to get that far from the initial pickup request]
Was going to say the same for me - Collected from sender Wiri and nothing since. Was expecting next week. Just turned up on a Saturday (obviously).

jobe88: My domestic parcels have been mostly great or a day later than expected. That hasn’t been the issue.
International has be so so slow.
Agree, domestic parcels have been great considering the situation.
The parcel I'm expecting from the US has been stuck in Chicago for 39 days (and that's the most recent status update I can find). All up it's been 54 days since USPS picked it up. Should I start taking bets for when it might arrive...? :P
Won't be ordering anything overseas (especially US) until things has settled down. Will just buy from NZ companies instead—being able to get my products next day or two is a great advantage for 'Buy NZ Made'!
I bought some items from a major US retailer (that I can't get in NZ), sent it to shipito in CA, made it inside a week at standard US domestic shipping then took all of 72 hours to make it to NZ from shipito (CA->SYD->AKL). Cleared customs on Friday which is when it arrived and now awaiting it to hit WLG, expect delivery Tuesday. DHL. Reasonably happy!
Just thought I'd briefly revive this (3 months later). Obviously thing are still pear shaped when it comes overseas packages and their delivery.
Anyway just thought I'd ask, for stuff from New York, via Chicago apparently, and using a cheaper DHL option, anyone know where it might head after that ? Is it via Australia or possibly direct ? Any vague eta's ?

If it's DHL it'll be going to Los Angeles, then Australia (Sydney) and a Trans-Tasman Cargo Airlines flight (everyday except Sunday) to Auckland where it'll be chucked onto an Air New Zealand or Parcel Air aircraft (depending on when the TTCA flight arrives in Auckland). That's DHL Express and should be with you within a week.
If it's DHL eCommerce (the slower DHL method) then it'll be a bit slower mostly through airline aircraft instead of dedicated freighters.

Thanks for the info. I would imagine it gets chucked (delicately transferred) to NZ Post in Auckland ?
Apparently its DHL Global Mail which I think makes it eCommerce. At least thats where I track it.
Also, of course, I checked this morning (12th) and it was Departed From Export Facility. Just checked again now and its Arrival At Destination Country but with yesterdays date. Anyway, sounds promising...
