I've signed it, immigration are being inundated with petitions to parliament at the moment as between covid border closures and the blow out on visa processing theres a lot of very angry and frustrated people out there. The one relating to the ridiculous processing rules on residency applications had reached a select committee but will now but go anywhere until after the election, that went sit will with the 30000 people stuck in that queue.

I do get the border restrictions are a necessity but there's some horrific stories of people who have been here for years that can't even reclaim their possessions to leave, I've seen one where a guy had to leave the country to donate an organ to save a family member and now can't come back to.

Signed the petition, I really hope your family are able to be reunited!

My nephew's wife is an Aussie, they lived in Perth for years before moving to NZ to live. Well nephew came back first with some of the kids and wife followed suit in February this year with the rest of the family. I can't image what would have happened if she hadn't been allowed in the country 😞

Wishing you all the best and keep us updated 🙂

I'm going to presume there are people here like me, that unless they are looking for something specific, tend to just only watch the home page and the current discussions panel on the right hand side.

@freitasm Is it ok if I bump this every few days to catch new sets of eyes?

Thanks to all of you who have supported and signed so far.

Lauren is very grateful, as am I.

EDIT 765 votes so far.

Some pretty sloppy reporting here, but NZHerald have got the gist of it.

Hooray! Finally an article (about a different couple) that bothers to mention the petition and includes a link!

Lauren was on The Project last night.

She is one of the most upbeat people I have ever met, but I know there have been plenty of tears.

She was a bit nervous and said 300 instead of 3000.

Newlyweds forced apart by quarantine in different countries

Once upon a time, Australian citizens with Kiwi partners could come and go as they pleased - without a partnership visa. Now they need one, but without processing or exemptions, many are stuck in a grey area with no idea when they'll see their partners next...

You can sign Lauren Bell's petition here > https://bit.ly/3fSZ1gc

Signatures : nearly 4500
