nzbullet: I saw this the other day at a dairy in ChCh and couldn't believe what I was seeing.
Seriously
  1. do we really need *another* energy drink and
  2. (more importantly) one called Cocaine!
I am not usually one for "pc" or "sensativity" to these kind of things but this one really pushes my buttons. What fool thought that it's ok to label a drink (which can be purchased by kids) the same as a 'Class A' drug and try to make "Cocaine" a cool, funny thing. It's not cool and it's not funny.

Well put!

i tried that drink the other day and experienced some definate effects, light headed dizzy almost drunk sensation and a kind of jittery energy.. was talking my mouth off. didnt experience any heart palpatations but i expect if you drank enough you would get some problems in that area.. not a bad flavour although almost a little medicinal

Looking at JRTs comparison, it doesnt really seem much different to Demon.

I quite like Demon (and Killer Troppo).

I think Redbull and V kinda own the market, and Demon (is that a CCA brand?) looks to be making inroads too. But beyond that, I have seen other brands come and go, and havent even tried them.

I have been keeping an eye out for Cocaine, but havent seen it on sale anywhere I have been.

I still havnt found it anywhere.. Ive been through most shops in blenheim and nelson to no avail. I even emailed them asking where it was available, i got a reply in which i had to explain where blenheim was, then no replys after that, so their customer service is pretty average at best.

The guy must be unable to negotiate a deal with the chains then.

Umpteen zillion dairys, vs one or two big chains.

Hmmmm.... his costs vs volumes are not going to look pretty.

Has also dumped a lot into radio ads - no good if the people listening cant buy the product somewhere close.

Can anyone say "gone by lunchtime" ? Oh look.... I just did.

i think this drink only appeals to the crowd who used to enjoy drinking redbull concentrate by the gallon.. or as a one off novelty (kinda like that sars drink back in the day) by people like me,i mean... it has dangerous levels of caffeine,i hear its actualy been around for a while but the importer only just got it through the food safety authority

Apparantely to meet the NZ and AU food standard ratings the caffeine level had to be under 80mg per 100ml or similar level, which is considerably less potent than the US version. So there isn't really much difference in caffeine levels between the drinks available on the market here.
I had a can of the Cocaine mild (blue can) when I was down in Chch at xmas time. Was quite tasty. Still prefer the Demon Killa Tropo though.

I saw an article in the Christchurch Star newspaper saying the guy who was importing and promoting this stuff is a sex offender (we're talking boys in their early teens), and massively obese too, not a good look for a guy selling sugary drinks LOL.

The original article is on http://www.stuff.co.nz/4601319a11.html

Interesting because one of the company directors contacted me when some other user posted the same information (without any links) asking to have it removed since this person is not part of the company.

I looked at the Companies website and couldn't find his name listed there - what's interesting is that Fairfax published this story - either he was a director and then had his name removed from the company listing, or he was never a director, in which case why would he had that picture taken?

By the way, I am changing the words in your post a bit to prevent the company threatening us again.
