I lived in Sydney for 30 years, returning home in 2014. As others have said NBN rollout has been a huge joke. Also hop onto the Whirlpool forums of which I was a member for nearly 20 years.

When I first joined the internet in 1994/5 it was TIG (The Internet Group), this then was bought out by the Auckland company HUG (Home Users Group) They subsequently were bought out by iinet in Perth.

All 3 providers gave me excellent service 24/7. Funny enough some of the iinet help desk is/was based in Auckland. Have a look at their front page and type in your street address and see if they provide to your area.

iiNet has been acquired by TPG/Vodafone. Service has gone far downhill, the routing has been changed to significantly inferior paths via Asia (and worse, Cogent) and only the sales team are now guaranteed to be onshore - mostly Manilla, and it shows. Aussie are now considered to be the "gold standard" in that respect based on their service desk being in Victoria, and the, you know, not overselling.

Seems to be an issue with Vodafone as a whole :)

OH NO 😱 It was a great company now destroyed by Vodafone.

+ service = ⚰️

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.
