I set it up a while back and then added Google Authenticator which I use for a couple of other things and it can be moved from old to new Android phones.

Having said all that, it's now not accepting the code(s)!

EDIT: In Google Authenticator, I went to settings > time corrections for codes and clicked sync now. Now it works!

Think I mentioned it in the covid record login thread, but I've had a look at trying to verify Realme without NZ Citizenship (permanent resident with UK passport) and put it in the too hard basket so haven't bothered. I don't appear to need it verified for anything and was able to sign up to the covid record site with it unverified.

Am a UK citizen and NZ resident.... Don't remember it being too hard.... But it was a while ago.

RealMe is awful. I jumped through all the hoops to become verified, so that I could use it to more easily renew my passport. Well this year It tells me that my verification is going to expire (thus proving the whole thing is a waste of time). I attempted to use the renewal process with the head nodding/shaking in front of the web cam. That failed and I vowed to never use it again unless I absolutely had to. It is easier to manually get a passport every 10 years than fart around with RealMe verification every 5 years to stay verified. I will just use the email address registration process on mycovidrecord.nz.

+1 to this - Realme Verification makes it too hard to renew, sat infront of 2 different cameras adjusted light levels, backgrounds, back ground light levels etc and couldn't for the life of me get it to take a verified photo. wasted an hour doing that. will just do it the old fashioned way.

Now I use 'Authy' for all my MFA codes as you can sync/restore them all when you change phones - total game changer!

Was thinking of mentioning that too even though it's not really an answer, ditch the rubbish Google/Microsoft auth apps and switch to Authy and that will solve a lot of your 2FA issues like migrating to a new phone.

The more I hear this, the more I believe RealMe might have similar issues to Kodak & Google?

Interesting, I'll have to remember that. Google Authenticator is the only app that has given me invalid codes.

  • Remember to enable the multi-device option
  • Remember to set a backup password & not forget it

Busy trialling the 2FA option built into Bitwarden. Codes seem correct, but haven't managed to get it to auto paste the codes into the 2FA field yet.
