I am probably just overreacting, it was a very disruptive day yesterday, vet visits for vaccinations and micro-chipping and then 3 incidents with me, I'll just see how the next few days go, I'll pick up a bag of cat treats on the way home tonight and see if some bribery will work :)

Get one of these:

https://comfypet.co.nz/products/purrsuit-39-wand-interactive-cat-toy

You can get them at all pet stores, you'll know you have the right one as there is a swivel on the feathers so it can spin and make the fluttery noise.

Run him ragged until he's panting, then once he's conked out, plop him on your lap and play some computer games and all will be forgiven. Male cats make the best companion cats, but they tend to quickly pick one person and everyone else has no standing in their eyes. Is someone else in the family getting all the smooches from him by any chance? Might be nothing to do with the 3x bonks, usually they are forgotten about in about 45 seconds.

We have two kittens who are brother & sister. And a puppy.

The female kitten tends to avoid the male members of the house but will happily sit on my wife's lap.

So I got home, and he was still really flighty, I made a few gentle and slow approaches, nope not having a bar of it. A bit later on, I made another couple of approaches, managed some gentle touches and now everything seems fine and he's my little mate again. He sat on my lap when I was reading to my kids and has been fine since. Happy days. Glad it was an overreaction.

Another addition to the "it'll sort itself out in time" responses. It's not a binary thing, you don't permanently lose their friendship from one misstep. In particular kittens are extremely resilient, many years ago I accidentally kicked our (then) kitten when she ran right in front of my foot as I was walking, she took off like a rocket and hid but then came back again later as if nothing had happened.

I'm not sure if I'd go overboard in paying attention to him since it'll establish a pattern of abuse -> lovebombing, better to just leave him and let him come back on his own terms.

Edited to add: Just realised that could be a bit unclear, by "abuse" I meant "accidental/inadvertent abuse/hurt/whatever", not actual abuse.
