Similar issue with a ~6 year old F&P, had both trays replaced once by F&P around 3 or 4 years in, they weren't very interested in replacing them a second time. The areas of rust weren't even in joins or stress locations.

 

Did you mention CGA or anything? Did you end up buying replacements or just get a new dishwasher?
