@richms

Did you end up tweeting them again and linking them this thread asking if they could allow us to stay signed into our account until we manually sign out? Signing us out every few hours or so is annoying and probably 99% of users are frustrated as well.

Agreed this is so annoying, I had been meaning to create a thread on here about it for a while,

Perhaps if they choose not to implement any of the suggestions here they could maybe update their smartphone app (last update 5 years ago) which is pretty broken and un-usable last time I tried. Using the Australia post website and app is like a dream in comparison.

Man I thought I was the only one. I use there tracking site everyday for years, there is no way its 24h session reset now. I'm re-logging in at least every 1-2 hours.

And this recent update has some nice additions, but (at least for me) is so much slower loading, and now also does this force page refresh every time to, and appears there is no way to open a single tracking anymore, pretty frustrating.

I have not bothered mentioning it to them.

With the change at aliexpress I seldom get numbers that do anything on the NZ post site so loading up my parcels with what they are as the name is not as useful as it once was so am hardly using it now.

It's also annoying when you click sign in on the tracking page and then have to choose 1 of 5 different sign in portals

I was using the NZPost website today. At a guess I'd say it stays logged in for 3-4 hours, then you have to log in again. The cookies for the auth.nzpost.co.nz domain say the cookie expires "when the browsing session expires", but I don't know what that means precisely.

I’ve notice on NZPost website that there is server maintenance tomorrow morning. I wonder if that will be where they will fix this annoying issue but highly unlikely.

+1 this is such an annoying issue.

It also used to keep tracking details for parcels I loaded up without logging in to the website (I assume via cookies or something). This tracking now seems to only work once and is not retained across sessions.

I understand the security intent but unfortunately all this does is make me not want to use the NZ Post website for tracking.

This is me also.  I used to track items sold/bought on TradeMe via the NZ Post website, with the ability to hold tracking numbers in the system for two weeks.  Now the numbers disappear after a matter of hours rendering the website pointless for my use scenario.

If you can't enter a number once and follow it through to delivery 1-3 days later, one wonders who exactly is going to use the website.

Their whole site is like an ongoing car accident. The UX is awful. Unintuitive and slow as a wet week. Logs you out every 4 mins. It's been no good since they decided to 'upgrade' the site right around the first lockdown, it was just getting OK - a bit faster & more reliable, and now they've ruined it again. Surely they have more important things to spend money on at the moment.

Did anyone find a solution in the end?

Is there a way, client side to keep the session alive, or auto login every hour?

I thought about using an extension, but wouldn't feel safe entering login details, and really don't want ANOTHER extension. Maybe one I made could work.

Or a way to interact with chrome via command line to script the login. Not ideal to keep plain text login details, but I'd consider it, if it's possible.

I have to use the NZ Post site daily for work, it's driving me crazy. I used to use a difference service that created NZ Post tickets, but NZ Post bought them up and forced us to use there site now :(

I'm going to have a look around tomorrow, there must be a way.

The nzpost app stays logged in but the website is still terrible for that.

https://eship.nzpost.co.nz/ stays logged in throughout the day & only logs out overnight.

Sorry, don't know about My NZ Post though.

Hmm, thanks for the tip, sadly I can't use eship: "Looks like you already have an eShip account! Currently we are unable to connect existing eShip accounts to My NZ Post Business."

When I try login via the link you gave it just redirects back to the login page. If I do have an eShip account with that email address, it doesn't seem to work.

I have a "special" My NZ Post Business account, and even though they have a prompt on NZ Post Business page (to use eShip), clicking activate link gives the above error.

I've used NZ Post for years for various things, so have accounts on several of their old systems, which I suspect is causing issues here.

Maybe I'll try reach out to support, see if they can get eship working with my NZ Post Business rates.

Just got an email from NZ Post eShip saying the account was setup. I can now login. But pricing is showing in USD for some reason, and certainly not at my discount rate.

Edit, hmm, seems whatever they done, the account is still half broken, all the settings links just show a login page (which doesn't login) in an (iframe?).

This is why I left trying to book tickets direct with NZ Post, there web apps are all so half baked.
