Thanks all. It looks like Kmart will the go to place for all her stuff. 

 

 

It really is for someone starting out. They seem to have the longevity of the cheap stuff sorted well IME, better than some of the more expensive brands (cough kambrook cough) - my $10 toaster for poptarts in the garage is still trucking along many years later.

If you are in Auckland Costco have this one for $90

 

We were lucky enough to pick it for $75 when it was on sale in the first week. 

 

We have used it pretty much every other day since and its great

You maybe able to get a good quality airfryer cheap second hand, as many people buy them, then don't use them. They do seem to be one of those gadgets of the moment.
