I thought Idris Elba was the next bond?

I think that was a couple of iterations ago.

Yeah, he's only 4 years younger than Craig.

Hmmm...It IS the Sun. So it could be unlikely.

Personally, I think Henry Cavill would make a good Bond.

I agree that Henry Cavil would have been perfect for the role, but he is coming up to 40 now, and the producers are looking for someone in their early 30's apparently.

He's probably too expensive as well. They tend to go for someone reasonably well known but not too famous.

It's a better suggestion than many of them.

networkn: If I am honest, I half expected a black trans woman to be named the next Bond (and no, I don't have anything against Black, Trans, or Women, or any combination of the above).

Bond seems stale to me. A black transwoman in the lead role might be exactly what it needs.

Only if she is also a tea totling vegan saving the planet against Spectre's latest plot which involves accelerating climate change.......

Lets not have a series / franchise that sells itself out to the woke PC brigade and sticks to its roots

My pick would be John David Washinton. Starred in Tenet.

Second would be Robert Pattinson.

Me too. There is something.... jarring ....about him.

Well I nominate Warwick Davis.

Wombat1: But James Bond is dead?

yes

im really hoping the next ones divorce 007 from Bond. That’d enable a lot of different options and story lines (personally I’d love to see both a female 007 and John David Washington in any damn role they put him in, preferably the lead), and give it a loooooot of available time.

also makes sense in the cannon with “ 00s usually have a short lifespan” -M
