quickymart:
I think you mean "I didn't do it".
Thats how well advertising etc work on me :-)
Batman:
i'm not sure why someone who has never needed to work and will never need to work one single day in their life while swimming in extravagant luxury has so much to complain about
While as a royal he may not have need to work to put food on the table, each of royals certainly had duties to perform. So from that point of view, yes he had to work, for instance serving in the armed forces.
Perhaps it just shows that money does not buy happiness.
400k copies sold on day one - https://www.marketwatch.com/story/prince-harrys-book-spare-is-a-top-seller-11673454165
Average price of what? $20 US? so over US8mil one day one...yip he knew it would sell.
alavaliant: I somewhat feel like the old adage about not judging somebody before walking a mile in their shoes applies here. Or the one about there being two sides to any argument etc.
unfortunately the Suxxeses drip feed accusation after accusation after accusation for years, and nobody asked to hear them
they are getting paid for every drip feed
there is so far only one side doing their thing
and no i will not walk one mile next to miss markle in anybody's shoes sorry
on the other hand i have no doubt a family in a position of power for centuries have internal fraternity rules that are harsh, and more than likely have been ruthless on outsiders who are out of favour with them
i don't mind seeing the end of the monarchy
so popcorn for all, money for the sussexes
Batman:

I think you are forgetting the years of UK tabloid press with constant royal stories, phone tapping, leaks and rumours.

First point is incorrect, I agree with the second. Its a harsh environment, especially if you don't fit into the zero diversity option.
Simplistically, they don't like her. And "they" is the admin of the Firm. Diana, wonderful as she was, was treated poorly as she didn't tow the line. Andrew does, so despite his actions, he's ok
I have no issue if a couple doesn't want that life, which they could have adapted to with movement on both sides. She doesn't fit the mould, simple as that.
Eva888: You don’t crap on your family to make money, it’s vulgar.
What I bolded applies. This issue works both ways.
Diana is just one of many examples

So its Meghan going to "disappear"? 🤔

So its Meghan going to "disappear"? 🤔
Already has. The unwanted marriage existing in that environment has succeeded. They left, job done

She kinda has, apparently: https://www.nzherald.co.nz/lifestyle/daniela-elser-mystery-of-why-meghan-markle-has-gone-missing-for-the-past-month/LE6UTKKRBVGHZFGIVZX5CAHDCM/
As I understand it the book was ghost-written by the guy who did Andre Agassi's one. That's about the "highlight" of the entire thing I'd imagine. Went on sale at launch in the UK for 50% off, 14 quid for a hardcover book. Marketing metrics must have indicated sales were going to be bad, "his people" had already spoken with their wallets.
The Royal Family, "the Firm" as they call themselves, is just like any other organisation that ever was. You bend to the company rules/company culture or you're going to find life very difficult for yourself. Just ask Elon how it goes when you come in richer than God and try to shake things up.
Harry-Megan's mistake is believing they have much say in what goes on in the Firm, and believing the rest of the "employees" are any less "prisoners" of the organisation than they believed themselves to be. King Charles can spit the dummy and pull a face when his fountain pen doesn't work, but can he just not show up to the event or refuse to sign ... of course not, he does what he's told like everyone else.

I get all that, the issue is he was born into it, it wasn't his choice. I imagine if he married a local white woman with lineage, that his lot would have been easy. However in todays world he married what most of us would call normal. Does his birth force him to live the Firms life? He/they could do both very easily, good for the Firm to move into the US market, thats been stated many many times, but the Firm wont stand for it, so he/they stood firm, now they are being castigated, voraciously by the media and silently by the Firm. So much for a modern world, equality and being diverse
IMO Harry has gone a bit far at times, but its clear that the FIRM is a big force, that's historic.
Yes you have to do what you are told, and from the odd doco I've seen over the years, huge power is wielded by the admin, not the Royals directly. I forget the term, but this "management" team behind the scenes is pretty hardcore. Yes, you want to preserve the history of the Royal Family (and I like the Royal Family) but that "team" acts as if its the 1500's.
Are Harry and Meg, angels? No. Always two sides, and the Royals side is heavily masked. The media is part of their side, and thats not my opinion, its factual. The media are managed by the Firm they have a symbiotic relationship, the media takes turns, that's the deal, works well for all of them
Will not buy it, will not read it, nor do I have any desire to watch any of the documentaries, interviews or other Netflix events. The cynical side of me sees this as a precious snowflake (or pair of) making a mountain out of a mole hill in order to make money, and consequences or fall out be damned.
One minute "We want privacy". Nek Minnit "Please buy our overpriced book, with allegations about our personal lives and close family members"
Markle and Harry have no class. None. The whole claim to victimhood by two wealthy and influential people is simply laughable.
Cleopatra's influence on Mark Antony could have been a stark warning to Harry. Too late now. He's already been led down the garden path, thinking with the wrong head all the way.
