I'm stuck with the NZPost default message! (AliExpress Standard Shipping, came via Singapore Post in this case! An LP.....SP Tracking Number rather than AE numerical ones)

Pending border clearance

06:21pm, 01 June 2023, Auckland, New Zealand

The postal shipment has arrived at the international gateway for unloading and border clearance into New Zealand.

I have never bought anything from Wish, but now with Temu I would rather buy from there than AliExpress if the item is sold by Temu as the shipping is just so much more reliable, both orders I have done so far arriving in two-ish weeks.

Yes. NZ Post has significant delays clearing packages.

Was the item fairly large? I've noticed larger packages seem to go via Singapore Post and are much slower than other AliExpress Standard routes.

If NZPost / Customs etc are this slow now, everyone had better order soon for Christmas from AE etc!

Hang in there. I have had a bunch of parcels arrive from overseas lately and every single one of them has done the same thing. Some clear in 2 days, others in 7 days. I find that weekends and public holidays basically make things come to a halt, like there's nobody there. My most recent one from Japan has taken 7 days to finally go from 'Pending Border Clearance' to 'International Arrival'.

Yay!

After 8 Days "Pending Customs Clearance" it now shows as "International Arrival"

Taken longer in NZ so far than it took From Ordering to Getting to NZ!

I ordered five small items in March.
Estimated delivery was early May, three arrived within three weeks, the other two just arrived today, both posted in the Czech Republic.
I was notified a month ago they had been delivered

Have had a few parcels lately, seems normal to what it was a few years ago.

Then there is the other parcel which turned up just under 6 months after i ordered it

Everything I have ordered since Feb/March has got here very quickly. The ones that got consolodated by aliexpress were about a week after the ones that came direct that were ordered on the same day.

Seems its all back to normal for aliexpress so safe to order things for projects that are underway.

All three of my packages routed via Czech Post in Jan/Feb have now arrived, in reverse order. It looks like they were shoved in a warehouse somewhere and processed last in, first out.

My guess is AliExpress identified a problem with Czech Post and stopped routing AliExpress Standard packages to NZ via their service. We've see the benefits of that with exceptionally fast services being used instead, but it may not last if those alternate routes cost more. I expect AliExpress Standard will probably revert to a more typical 2 week delivery timeframe as things settle down and other routes become available.

I've been pretty impressed with AliExpress shipping in 2025. Things turn up very quickly given the low shipping prices - often within a week, usually within two weeks. I made an order for some small filters on Sunday, 5 days ago, and it's on CourierPost to delivery today - that's pretty impressive for $2 shipping!

I too have been very impressed lately with the shipping times from Aliexpress. I've changed to only ordering "Choice" items, because my understanding is that these items come from an Aliexpress warehouse, rather than directly from a seller. My reasoning is that this should result in faster shipping, as you're not waiting on a seller to package and send the parcel. Also I assume that Aliexpress will actually send the item, whereas a seller may be dodgy and might not even send the item or send an incorrect item. So far I've not had any problems with "Choice" items and they arrive fast.
