surfisup1000:

I ordered an iphone 15w wireless charging disc off temu, looks like the apple one, had the best reviews on Temu (rating 4.7/5 , out of 33 thousand reviews).

Received it, and it is very light compared to the apple wireless charger, roughly finished, and packaging was very poor.  Regarding functionality, the iphone doesn't always start charging once magnetically locked to the disc.  It is quite tedious to get the charging to properly connect.

Finally, I used my USB power meter to check power draw (15w advertised), but the disc was only drawing 7.5watts. Meaning, after inefficiency it is likely the power output of the disc is around 5 watts, 1/3 of their stated spec!

I just can't see how this got 4.7/5, the reviews just have to be faked. I guess it kind of works, but they lie blatantly about the specs, and it is quite fiddly to initiate the charging. We've had a couple of times where it has not charged overnight because of this.

I ordered a wireless charger for my car from temu, surprisingly it was good. Haven't checked it with Power meter, but it does charge as expected. So, no complaints.

hmm....I'm not a dressmaker, but I use cm all the time. What does that say about me?

That you are going to end up ordering a chair that will fit inside a coffee mug.

Bee:

Bought a small compass from Temu with stick-on pad.  Its supposed to go in the car?

It works fine outside, but in the car it just points East all the time :(

Does it also sound out the adhan (call to prayer) five times a day?

Yeah, well, you need to be careful, eh. If you’re saying ‘8’, you need to be sure everyone’s on the same wavelength.

I have pondered whether cheap junk should be banned. But, there are probably poor people out there that rely on such junk.

Buying from Temu is both a peer pressure thing and an addiction :)

yes theres a lot of rubbish and gimmicky things but some good things too.

Doing your best is much more important than being the best.

I can definitely say that I have had recent positive trade from Temu. An item of clothing, a Man's blazer, was ordered online, with a specified size of XL. There was some trepidation, but at a price of $63, it seemed worth a trial. A similar blazer in NZ would likely cost $150-$400. Anyway, post was free, and it duly arrived 10 days later. It was an amazingly upmarket blazer, with beautiful finish, and impeccable tailoring. There is a minor adjustment to be made with the length of the sleeves, but I am ecstatic with the purchase! No Scam Here!
