Ahhhh, right that makes sense - last mile delivery. Was confused by the NSW references. Yeah locally it is a crapshoot using either Amazon Flex or an awful service called "Dragonfly". Both are incredibly average.
Ah yes, I was imprecise as I thought everyone knew Amazon AU deliveries to NZ are done by NZPost. They possibly do subcontract parts of that out, but it's in NZPost tracking from the moment it leaves Amazon.
Delivery is usually a week, but my latest parcel took a week to get from the Amazon warehouse to the next hop on the trip. It's continued on at the usual pace since it hit there though, arrived in NZ yesterday. Christmas delays I guess.
I thought I'd post an update just to show what can happen to your parcels.
After posting a query to Aramex for the first parcel they emailed me back a week later saying that the parcel had been delivered to somewhere in the Nelson area. The same day I had a call from the Greymouth office to say they had my parcel and they are now forwarding it to me. Hopefully it will arrive now.
The second query I posted to Aramex for the other parcel has never got a reply. Looking on the Aramex tracking page today it is now marked as undeliverable as of yesterday and is on it's way back to Amazon US apparently. After calling the Auckland depot it appears it cannot be retrieved.
This is after both parcels were in Timaru, just down the road from me, in early November. Go figure.
i've had nothing but bad luck with Amazon and getting a package in good condition to my door. The last two package were hard drives.
Mid last year was amazon.com.au which used Aramex. The parcel took a tour of the South Island before making it to me in Auckland, hard drive DOA. At first Amazon said i was lying about not receiving the package until i proved to them via local tracking that it was still in transit somewhere else in the country. They humbly accepted RMA when i finally got the dead hard drive and i got a refund (less foreign exchange fees). Took a couple of months all up.
2nd time just now amazon.com which also used Aramex. This time package did not tour the South Island but took 2 weeks to get from one side of Auckland to the other. Hard drive DOA yet again. 😑
Amazon USA seem to use DPD, who deliver with Aramex. Things usually arrive promptly in Wellington and in good condition.
Amazon AU usually deliver to me using NZPost, though occasionally they use DHL. I've never had Amazon AU use Aramex.
My first parcel finally arrived.
The last I heard of my second parcel it was on the way back to the USA after circumnavigating NZ but since then, about 3 weeks ago, nothing.
Was the address used on the label (from the Amazon details), using the correct nz post address format ?
E.g.
john smith, 1234 Somewhere road, Somewhere Town, RD01, New Zealand?
I had an interesting Amazon delivery recently. I made an order 4th Dec from Amazon.com, most of the order arrived as expected. One parcel that had vitamins disappeared - according to Amazon tracking it arrived in NZ 22nd December then there was no sign of it.
Today I get two emails from Aramax, they're delivering the replacement package as expected, plus another package. Digging into the tracking it looks like my vitamins were with MPI (NZ Ministry of Primary Industries) from 22nd Dec released on 19th Jan - about a month! That seems really excessive. I hope they don't try to charge me for it.
Unfortunately I don't know how to find the Aramex tracking number until the day they're going to deliver the package, so between arriving in NZ and the day of delivery it's a mystery. Does anyone know how to find Aramex tracking numbers for incoming Amazon deliveries?
Here's the Aramex tracking

Unless you know already, you can quite often track Amazon stuff at Ascendia tracking. They have an alternative tracking number down the right hand side somewhere you can use with Aramex. That only seems to work from when Aramex receive the parcel though.

Thanks. I put my AWS / DPD tracking number (AW024xxxxxx) into Ascendia and it said "Item not found". Is there a trick to it?
Erm. Don't think so. But while I remember, don't think it works with Amazon stuff from the UK.
You could also try one called track24.net, they put the Alternative number down at the bottom.
Alt number for me seems to start with MX

Mine's from Amazon.com. All the tracking numbers I can see are AW, might be different carriers. Oh well.
Weird. This is mine today from Amazon US on Ascendia site. I typed in a AW number.. Delayed surprisingly. It has an MX number next to where it says Next Tracking Numbers and as you can see mentions Aramex.

The MX number is the Aramex number. Where do you get that from before Aramex email you "package is being delivered today"? The only tracking number I had until today was the Amazon.com / DPD tracking number which starts "AW".

Try https://uktracking.asendia.com/tracking-dpd.php?ref=AWXXXXXXXX (replace with your ref, obviously)
