Anyone had problems getting Amazon packages delivered via DPD?

I've got a couple of Blu-Rays that seem to have been stuck in Auckland for a couple of weeks. One is flagged as out for delivery on Nov 24th twice and the other delayed in transit three times, again all on the Nov 24th.

My wife told me she had to wait a long time for a package coming via DPD to arrive as well.

Sometimes it does take a while in general. But I think the local delivery people are Aramex and they've been rubbish for me recently.

Aramex cross labeled my items with another person.

So my expensive stuff went to other guy, and I got his cheap stuff that i don't need/want.

Interestingly i tracked down the other guy who lives in a multimillion dollar mansion in AKL who admits they have my stuff but is refusing to swap items once they realised my stuff was worth something.

Anyway, got my money back from Amazon and I've just reordered. Not sure what happens this time round.

Mixed experience. Sometimes they arrive really quickly, sometimes they're slow. My latest package was out for delivery with Aramex yesterday but hasn't turned up yet, but we did have a bit of a storm that could've been a problem.

NZPost do Amazon AU deliveries. They're pretty reliable, but recently it's taken more than a week for a package to get from the Amazon warehouse to the delivery warehouse, both in NSW.

Lately my Amazon US packages have taken the tourist route inside of Aramex's bays. Had to call our local depot because they were stuck in a bay and did not move. Amazon never has printed our address correctly so Aramex depending on the day sometimes just go "oh this address is invalid sorry can't deliver you gotta pick it up".

In addition I've been noticing Amazon has not used shipping boxes, they shipped my lovely new 16 port D-Link Gig switch with the product box itself. Classy.

Amazon are trying to cut down on cardboard waste. Most things are packaged well, at the expense of box condition when it arrives.

Amazingly the box was in pristine condition some how.

Amazon boxes are useful though so I get the reduce but please... my things. 😁

Both packages now say delivered a week ago. They weren't.

Delivered to who though? DPD don't deliver direct to me in rural South Island. They would most likely come via NZ Post

Have you tried tracking it through Asendia?

Asendia usually show who the local shipping agent is and what the local agents shipping reference is.

Asendia reports unknown tracking ID.

That would only work if they had shipped using Asendia wouldn't it?

So you tried the link:

https://uktracking.asendia.com/tracking-dpd.php

Sometimes RD parcels get marked 'delivered' when they get handed over to a contracted RD delivery partner(ie nzpost) from Aramex etc but Aramex usually do it right and have a status saying handed over to RD partner or similar. You could always contact amazon live chat and ask about the packages and have them investigate.

As for peoples Aramex complaints I get the frustration, they are only as good as their last mile of delivery and often route owners are overworked and underpayed. Our local is fantastic thankfully.

I've found Asendia very reliable with the DPD tracking ID supplied by Amazon.

As loceff13 mentioned, the RD tracking is dubious, Aramex may class it as RD when it certainly isn't. My address is in suburbia, Aramex even deliver and pick up from our address, but we've had our DPD parcel go to Aramex in our city, before being given to NZ Post for the last mile, only to get the normal NZ Post courier. At the point of handover the Aramex tracking ID (as supplied by Asendia) then works with NZ Post.

Thanks for the link, that worked.

It appears it nearly got to me as it was at the Timaru depot but then was redirected to Invercargill, then Blenheim finally saying it was delivered rurally with the location Auckland. Go figure.

Anyway, I've posted a query with Aramex so I'll expect a response around Easter.

Thanks for the assistance. I would never have tracked it down without you guys helping.

Que? I've never seen a package delivered by NZ Post in Queensland, which makes sense since NZ Post hasn't had a presence in Australia since they sold Couriers Please to Singapore Post. Where are you getting that info from?

I think timmmay means that NZ Post handle Amazon AU deliveries to NZ…

As in "packages bought from Amazon AU, sent to NZ, are delivered by NZ Post".
