Not sure what your point is. Apple are not providing interoperability. Just because Google think they should doesn't mean it's going to happen.

 

Also that's a competitor try to elicit change not a regulator try to enforce change.

AFAIK, currently only WhatsApp can send messages to WhatsApp, i.e. there is no interoperability with other messaging platforms. See next post about EU.

"Meta-owned WhatsApp is reportedly working on bringing "third-party chat" support on Android in order to comply with the new European Union (EU) regulations. The new feature will offer users the ability to communicate with each other using different apps, according to WABetaInfo."
