You wouldn't generally use a stainless pan for the same thing you'd use a non-stick pan. It's a different tool for a different job.

I guess it depends on how you cook and what you cook. But I use olive oil and never had any issues with fried things sticking. I guess nonstick allows you to use less oil, although I am not that familiar with the newer teflon like pans.

mattwnz:I would have thought that they would have given you some sort of receipt when you exchange the stickers for the product.

Lizard1977:  Trouble is, I never kept the receipt - I never expected to have an issue where I would need to prove that I "bought" it.

Without proof of purchase, whether that's money or rewards or the NW coupon scheme, you're probably out of luck. I find non-stick coatings last a year or so even on the expensive tefal pans, but they shouldn't flake off.

That is incorrect. They would be able to tell by looking at it, that it was one of the ones they sold, simply by looking at it. They will have back to back warranty with their supplier and no reason to stiff the consumer.

I have owned my tefal for 6 years and it's fine. We don't exactly baby it, but it's not handled with metal utensils, nor at high heats. People seem to have this ongoing obsession with getting stuff super hot. I regularly cook steaks over medium high heat in a non stick pan and they turn out perfectly, with a lovely crust.

Non stick lets you cook with less heat and have more control, especially with things like eggs. There’s no way I want olive oil anywhere near scrambled eggs.

We had a issue with a crockpot from a previous new world promo. We were able to report it and the manufacturer sent out a replacement.

That's useful to know - thanks @openmedia

Did you take it back in store or did you contact New World via their website?

There is a two year warranty on the New World promo Masterchef cookware. Not sure about proof of purchase requirements, though.
