I wouldn't buy a Kindle Fire tablet for myself, but they are great for kids with their walled garden of age-appropriate apps and content.

noroad:

I use the NZ post https://www.nzpost.co.nz/tools/you-shop service to do walmart orders, its normally $40/50 a time

YouShop was great at losing my parcel. Opened a ticket after it was stuck in "ready to ship" status for a couple of months, they promised to follow up, and never did. Eventually it sat on my dashboard as "ready to ship" for almost two years before it disappeared.

A quick report on MyUS reshipper. Everything went well, and I'd use them again. It arrived with them, it promptly appeared in my account, and was shipped out using DHL promptly. It cost US$37 to ship with DHL including insurance which I thought was quite good. It cost US$8 for Lithium Ion processing.

Two things to note:

  • GST on their invoice includes GST on the imported goods. It took me a little while to work out why it was so high
  • With a free account (ie no monthly fee) you can't choose your reshipper manually. You can give them a preference (see below) and they try to honor that, but it's shipped out automatically. You can choose "MyUS preferred express" which lets them choose best value, or you can manually choose DHL / Fedex priority / Fedex economy. It looks like you can't access the cheaper shipping like Australia Post unless you pay for the service by the month. Their DHL rates are very competitive though, much better than most reshippers. Probably better than youshop which is slower.
  • Their website is sometimes exceptionally slow - 30s page load times are not unusual.

All in all I'd use them again and recommend them to others, with the minor caveats above.

Glad you also had a great experience with them. Very happy with them the two times I've used them to ship pool test kits.
