I must say i was really curious as to what it tasted like as I love my cheese.  After visiting 3 different supermarkets I finally found a can at Pak n Save.

it is horrible!!  would not recommend it at all!

Last Saturday, Mr Cheese was at a booth at New World Botany, and we got to try it out on a small cracker.

It tasted yuck. Not even close to cheese.

I would assume it's like processed cheese in a jar (e.g. Kraft Cheese Spread).  Is it worse than that?  Must go looking for it.  It's pretty pricey though, $7 for a 250g can I think?

Can someone please give us a critical review? What kind of yuck specifically? I'm imagining it tastes something like the "cheese" in the Le Snak?

To paraphrase the late, great Douglas Adams, I'm guessing it's almost, but not quite, entirely unlike cheese.

Cheers
Jon

Ditto.  I'll try and pick some up on the way home.  I'm not a food snob, so I should be able to offer a more informed opinion Wink

To be honest, I quite like plastic cheese (for what it is).  Why is it that Chesdale has a place in NZ's heart, but this is being rejected?  Too "American"?

Pretty much as expected.  I picked up a can of Tasty from New World Albany, $6.29.  It tastes like you'd expect for plastic cheese in a can.  I'm a fan, but I doubt I'll use it a lot.  It's no worse that Le Snak cheese if you're happy with that.

I could not find it in PaknSave Petone though I did not try looking too hard. Can you still buy DairyWip?

I DID bring home some "Jiffy" brownie mix though :-)
