Very definitely a scam site. Like others have said, having the nz.com is a pretty good sign it's a scam site. I also look at the Returns page, where the scam sites tend to have exactly the same thing written, normally including stuff that they don't even sell.


And what is this weird capitalisation? They probably Can't Speak English Good (TM) either.

I just got duped by the exact same site, trying to buy my Daughters Xmas presents and I considder myself to be IT Savvy.
My first sign was I only got an email from confirmation of payment thought a hong kong merchant, it was $10 more than I expected to pay but the charge did say it can differ due to exchange rates, I nevergot a confirmation of order, I logged back int the site today and my cart still had the items I supposedly ordered, I then googled if the site was legit and landed here. Called the bank who have cancelled my card and have said pretty much no chance of recovery, duped out of $130 for teenage fashion hype.
I feel foolish but im also annoyed at White Fox because they are an online only merchant, popular among teens but you cannot buy from any stores. Therefore I won't bother buying their merchandise now

It's not a bank account scam. It's credit card fraud. The bank is not "recovering" anything. They have to follow the credit card network chargeback rules. Read the article for more information:

That's not the way it works. You should name and shame the bank if this is the way they have fobbed you off. Extremely disappointing.

if it was credit card then yes you should do chargeback, note that even though it is clearly a scam site, for chargeback you need to try and resolve with the 'vendor' first, so my wife had to send an email and go back to the dodgy site and fill out the contact form and screen shot it (no email copies sent from this site!)
The bank were now happy to start the chargeback process.
We successfully went through the charge back process about 5 or 6 years ago, with a fake Arc'teryx product. It took a while and you need to follow the process as instructed. e.g. try to notify the vendor, wait for product, show it's not correct, try to contract vendor again, then the card company take it over and get you your refund. Keep all email chains etc.
In our case the scam vendor didn't fight it in any way, or want the fake product back, etc. That doesn't seem to be their model. They want fast turnover, bank the ones that don't do charge back, lose the ones that do, and move on.
The most important thing though is to cancel the card straight away. That at least immediately puts a floor on your downside. Note, for those not already aware, you can continue using the credit card through Apple Pay (or the like), even after you cancel the physical card and before the new one arrives.

You specifically have to ask for a chargeback, not just tell the bank that you would like a refund or something similar. They aren't "not well trained on chargebacks" like that says, they are well trained and will only do it when asked for it.

If you paid with your debit card online, over the phone or in-person using contactless and the transaction goes through Mastercard or Visa, it is eligible for a chargeback.
