Star Wars - original

Saw this when released in theatres as a 7 year old.
Once on VHS, stopped counting the number of times I watched it when I passed 100.

These were favorites for a long time:

- The Fifth Element
- Brazil

Lately not so much. I was about to say 4k has not been kind to these but, this comparison indicates the 2017 UHD is worth a look:

in no specific order

Friend https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0281718/
Inception https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1375666
Rear Window https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0047396
Spirited Away https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0245429
Flow https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4772188/

Inception probably edges it, It made me think a lot afterwards about how you could make such an elaborate story based on the concept of 'planting an idea in someones head'

The fandom 4k scan of the original 35mm theatrical release is 🔥 compared to the special releases.

The Straight Story.

Based on a true story, man travels 600km on a ride on lawn mower to visit his dying brother.

I've watched it at least five times and would sit down in a heartbeat to watch it again.

Directed by David Lynch.

Road movies don't get better than this.

Ergh, the more I read this thread the more my list changes.  Can't believe I forgot Shawshank and the various Studio Ghibli movies; though my pick from Studio Ghibli would be Princess Mononoke or Grave of Fireflies.

The Prestige, for me.

A right old mix of historical relevance (Tesla/Edison), sci-fi stuff and plot twist.. I keep forcing myself to forget details of it so I can watch it again for the first time.
