I can't stand the Spark one -- the one where the non-Spark customer borrows the Spark customer's phone. Implies their network is better than the other two.

Funnily enough my husband is with Spark and he's had to borrow my One/2deg phone several times to make SMS/voice calls in places where Spark has zero coverage/capacity but 2deg/One has excellent service.

Rikkitic: Pam's It is a store brand, for christsake. The fact that a lot of people buy it has nothing to do with its 'popularity'. It is marginally cheaper, full stop. This commercial is deceptive and dishonest and that is why it annoys me.

I don't buy it because it's popular. I buy it because it's good. On that basis this ad doesn't annoy me. There have been times when I've bought a Pam's and found it unacceptable - I just never buy that particular Pam's item again ever ; ).

Overall I'm very happy with the various Pam's items I buy semi-regularly.

The ad I've seen does not say people are buying it because it's popular. It's just says it is the most popular that's all.

A form of advertisements that really annoys me is goddam pop ups on web sites asking me review or subscribe or to moan about an adv blocker or beg for money(insert any NZ news site) before I have had a chance to look at their crappy web site. I normally exit and never return.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Rikkitic: Even those of us who have left linear TV behind forever still see commercials. They are everywhere, and getting worse. I still cling to the News at Six and that is where they congregate. Some are more annoying than others. Here are a couple of mine:

My problem is the reverse imo ; ). I have ceased to be annoyed by ad content that I should be very annoyed about.

The YouTube preroll ads for obviously bogus products like "the thing you stick on your tap for unlimited hot water". Then advertising for a whole bunch of slightly less bogus products they are trying to sell but with totally misleading claims.

YouTube are basically operating a television service in New Zealand and should be subject to the same ad regime. Likewise the competing streaming companies when they do ads. It looks a lot like bogus things are able to place high bids for ads and are squeezing out genuine competitors for the ad dollars. Anyone with half a brain can see it's bogus and irresponsible. Is there an NZ regulator for this conduct?

Trivago TV Ad I agree really annoying and how they compare pricing between rooms they paid. The guy that paid more could of had a better / bigger room with better views!

And the guys prefect white teeth!!

All ads are deceptive because they try to manipulate viewers. But not all are blatantly dishonest. The Trivago ones are/were. That is why they now carry a miniscule banner stating that they only recommend hotels that pay them a fee. They do this because they were fined $45 million in Australia for false advertising. The banner is in the smallest font they could find and it stays on screen for what is probably the legally required minimum.

Another advertiser that carpet bombed us with commercials for awhile was Youi but they got done here for illegal practices and have since gone silent. They are still polluting the airwaves in Australia though.

Those teeth are probably implants. They have clearly had a lot of cosmetic work.

Skinny is a budget operation. I don't blame them for that. I have a really good deal with them for my phone. I also like that they choose an older somewhat withered model over a young hot one. How often do you see that on television?

The Advertising Standards Authority says that its Advertising Standards Code "applies to all advertisements placed in any media", so I'd imagine that you could complain about YouTube ads that breach the Code.

Anything with Australian accents.

Also, the Genesis Energy ads with that obnoxious kid.

Ah yes, that is another one. There is that smarmy kid in the retirement village commercial who speaks to the camera. What the hell? She should be out playing with other children or something. A few kid ads are okay, but most verge on child exploitation in my opinion.

The key to a winning advert is just fill it with cats..  Cats doing human things, cats doing stupid things.. The one cat one I dont like is the roofing one cause every time the owner yells Bella our cat comes running, then we get 10 mins of cat butt in front of the TV.  My least favourite adverts are the ones on Amazon Prime pushing some dumb movie Ive already seen....

Although you have got to love being told how to get a cheaper room by a multi-multi millionaire,

Also he has almost no presence in NZ, whereas in most of Europe he's pretty unmistakeable...

https://www.goal.com/en-au/lists/jurgen-klopp-red-bull-salary-revealed-liverpool-boss-agreement-new-deal/blt97b55c65da46d0da

"Jurgen Klopp will earn up to €12m a year in his role with Red Bull"

That's what gets me:
Why on earth is a guy earning over €10m a year making cheesy adverts for anyone, let alone a hotel booking site?
Who in their right mind believes that Jurgen Klopp books his own hotels, surely one of his staff or one of Red Bull's travel people would do that?
And if he is coining that much, would he really be slumming it in a $250/night hotel?

Actually I stand corrected the most annoying ones are those ones that go for like 19 seconds then have some lady talking about how rivited you were with no real extra information. I am guessing they are an advertising company
