I've just got some Driclor (delivered by courier this morning) which I will try. I found that Mitchum was giving me an itchy rash (although I use Linx during the day so I'm now starting to wonder given the other posts on here.

Driclor is pharmacy only and is not cheap. Around $39-41 at a pharmacy, but I got it for $30 delivered from onlinepharmacy.co.nz. You aparently use it a couple of nights a week and your normal antiperspirant during the day. Am interested to see if it is as good as Hidrosol was (which is no longer available). Will post my results.

I used to use Hidrosol mixed with ethyl alcohol in a sprayer, since it has no odor, or sludge or other junk I then smell totally neutral and have no sticky armpits. I then apply the quality fragrance of my choice rather than smelling like toilet duck (lynx, most other cheap "body sprays")

Hidrosol was Aluminium chloride, stops the perspiration and the alcohol kills the bacteria.

Alas, Hidrosol no longer available and used to be rather cheap ($6-$8) compared to the gouging $30+ prices for the driclor.

Lynx works well for me, though sometimes I get an irritation and have to biff a can away (random occurence, not sure if it's me or the Lynx changing from time to time).

The cheaper ones are useless.

Rexona is the worst smelling deodorant I have ever come across.

FANTASTIC use of the off topic forum. A++++. Would trade again.

Am a fan of nivea for men, the active sport one that has orange on the can is awesome.. I always thought lynx was for schoolboys? well thats when i stopped using it anwyay.. rexona is just bad as people have said. Adidas is ok but dosnt last the day..
Tried mitchum many years ago and was top notch too, if i recall there is (or used to be) something written on it to basically saying that if you regularly used it then you could actually miss a day of putting it on and it would still work.. good stuff :)

Yep, that is their motto... of course, you'd have to not shower, in order to not wash it off, so that if you miss a day, it's still 'protecting' you...
(if my run-on sentance makes sense...)

Have had the Driclor on for about 30 mins now and my underarms are as itchy as hell. But this is what Hidrosol used to do to me too. No gain with no pain I guess. Will be interesting to see what I am like tomorrow...

I found the potassium sulfate crystal stones work a treat and lasts for months. Plus they don't contain aluminum, which is a bonus.

I use the Clarins Mens Antiperspirant Deo Stick. I was in a similar position to you trying to find the right product, but this one works well and has a gentle, fresh smell to it as well.

Ensure your armpits are at room temperature and totally dry, then the itch will be minimized. Hence one of the reasons I had mixed it with ethanol, lower concentration but well spread.
