Hi guys,

Like the title says, Im having issues finding an antiperspirant/deodorant that actually stops me sweating for more than an hour or two. I go to the gym in the morning which tends to make me hot most of the day (esp since the girls at work seem to think we're living in Siberia and have the heaters blasting). Days when I dont go to the gym are better but I still end up swetaing, just takes a little longer. Im not a profuse sweater (as in I dont need treatment for it) but would love to have dry armpits for a day.

The baggier the clothing, the better but this doesn;t eliminate the problem and Im limited in what I can wear at work (dont think XXXL Hawaiin shirts are what they had in mind when they say "shirt"...)

Ive tried a few, Lynx, Rexona, all the usuals but nothing really works well. Is there such a thing?

What do you guys use that works or are you in the same boat as me?

Cheers

No I haven't but I just googled it. Says it has the maximum level of active ingredient.

Should have mentioned that SOME of the Lynx flavours (and a few real cheapo brands) give me a rash but I think I can safely rule out the active ingredient as its the same in all of them. Seems to be the perfume or something else in it.

So where does one get Mitchum in NZ?

Have you tried it?

Mitchum is awesome, I know a LOT of people who won't use anything else now, though I've found nothing is 100% reliable. We get ours from the supermarket.

I'm a stinky bugger and need to spray a few times a day.

I've found Lynx to be horrible... it stings and I get a rash.

Great, so you can get Mitchum in NZ supermarkets? Failing that I assume pharmacies?

EDIT: Cheers for the link!

Another Vote here for Mitchum.

I have tried almost every non-precription antiperspirant and none have worked anywhere near as well as mitchum. It is awesome.

One tip, assuming you are a guy: There are about 3 or 4 versions of mitchum that all look very similar (littlew green stubby roll ons). make sure you don't grab the girl's one by mistake as it is scented like a girls deoderant - flowery. IT has a little bit of pink on the front, but easy to miss if you are in a hurry.

I also found that a version they released for a while that was supposed to be "easier to roll on" It worked really well, but leaked profucely in my bag when I got on a plane - to do with the pressure I think)

(unless you like that sort of thing of course :D )

You can buy it in pharm but it is usually a bit cheaper in supermarkets.  also , they are more likley to do a 2 4 1 deal, which you should always grab if you see it.

Nivea Dry. The white one. No alcohol. No perfum. Long lasting. I have used it for about 20 years.

What a strange subject...

i used to use nivea dry (which actually smells yukky even though it has no perfume) but they recently did a "product check" on target and i've started trying the other brands that rated better.

target episode can be seen online still @ http://www.tv3.co.nz/Target-1022/tabid/742/articleID/60994/cat/37/Default.aspx

brands tested were: Rexona Sport, Addidas Control and Nivea.

the white nivea shave gel wins hands down though. by far the best shave gel/foam/oil i've used!

i might add too that i find the sprays better than the roll-ons. the roll-ons dont dry fast enough for me and clog up my shirts which makes me sweat more!

Well this is the off topic forum Tongue out

Figured this would be something relevant to a lot of people on here and seems to be so.

Thanks for all the replies guys, I will try both of those and see how I go!

I can recommend Mitchum for blokes. It's good on sensitive (irritation-prone) skin and hepls keep you dry and fresh (sounds like an ad for panty liners, doesn't it?).
