Comradehunt: There is a trader on TM who gives people negative feedbacks (by default) if he is not given (a happy) feedback. Thats it - trade can be 100% a pleasure and success, but if he doesn't get feedback - you get a red!
To expand on this, say after a few weeks no feedback has been given to him, he writes an email blackmailing that either you give him good feedback right away, or he will post negative, which will stay there until a happy is given (even though affected person still has a red, crazy).
IIRC, feedback can only be amended once be each party.
So, if he does that, and gives you a negative, but then subsequently changes it to positive or neutral when you give him a positive, then all you do is change his to negative for being such a douche. since he has already edited once, he cannot do it again.
Oh hell there are some real dicks on the messageboard there. You can get them really riled up by just siding with a property owner in the real estate one since there are so many full time DPB moms in there they get angry at the thought of not being entitled :)

You are correct with what you said. In this case, he just called TM and had a grizzle that the negative feedbacks back to him should be deleted as they were retalitory (which they were clearly not), he must have said regardless of how he behaved and blackmailed people - he did pay for the items, so shouldn't get red, and TM must have agreed as they wiped all the negatives he got.
Another good suggestion is, ALWAYS place feedback, no matter how brief.
I got the run around from a guy on TM over a year ago, wasted my time and money making calls from cellphone, plus many, many trips to couriers, and in the end he decided he didn't want to pickup from his local couriers depot 20km away even if I gave him $20 for the trip so he cancelled the trade. I didn't place feedback on him, but I did blacklist him. Then 9 months later he saw something I had listed and decided he wanted it, but found out he couldn't buy it as he was blacklisted. So he went ALLLLL the way back through my feedbacks until he found his one, and changed it to a negative for blacklisting him. But I couldn't do anything back as I never placed feedback at the time, so I had to negotiate with him to get rid of it.
It was so long ago I did not have his email address anymore, so I was lucky that he had some auctions, so I had to go onto one of them all grovelling like, and removed him from my blacklist. He then deleted the negative feedback. I promptly added him back to my blacklist once this was done. Never heard from him since.
The only other "retalitory" feedback I got was a guy who gave me a neutral as my happy feedback's written description was not praising enough for his liking. He thought I should have gone OTT with praise as I got a great deal, not a good deal, etc.
In neither case did I contact TM. I find them a complete waste of my time...
If I report an auction that is a direct threat to their income, POW its removed. But if I email them with a query, all I ever get back is a prewritten generic email which is a waste of time as it never answers my question originally asked.
Also quite a few other people have got TM to change their user name, which is what I want to in order to line up all my user names everywhere, but they refuse to do it for me. They say one username per person per lifetime. Their reasoning for why is stupid and doesn't apply in my case as I have no bad feedback. But still the little boy waits.
That feedback checker is a third party site that scrapes data from trademe, they probably don't re-scape and remove old feedback items that were removed.
