A little off topic (with exception to the product) but i once got a 32 gig Song flash drive that was a fake. Even came in genuine (lookinh) sony packaging. When plugged into your drive read as 32 gig you could load 32 gig of data on there too. HOwever when you tried getting the data off it was always corrupt.

Was same as yours price too good to be true (and turned out it was).

Can be hard to tell sometimes with fakes the better operations can be near impossible to tell until it's too late.

I did have a set of fakes given to me one and they were amazingly good after I had put some proper bracing and fill inside the boxes and sealed the drivers correctly. They lasted many a party till eventually the plinius made the "weetbix" cabinets split in two. The drivers took a licking and kept a ticking amazingly.

I ended up cannibalizing them for the "butyl" rubber surrounds for some decent pioneer car speakers eventually where the foam had perished. Chinese glue is obviously not waterproof so they just came right out after a short soak!

Yeah really good :) even without needing to send the items back. Although not much a trader could do with counterfeit items now

And the power of Google/Geekzone/Trademe is awesome :) news travels very fast indeed

That's a good outcome. Hope you're gonna install them properly. A friend got some nice soundstreams and just proceeded to slap them into the factory door hole, so they were pretty bad in the bass response, ended up crossing them at 180Hz just to get rid of the boom and rattles.

haha, definitely be installing them properly :), I've always done things slowly on my previous cars. And even though this is a cheap runabout, I'll still want quality parts going in

Also found out the guy from Kicker is a common poster on NZIcemag and I never knew :S whoops

Going to be either fibreglassing them into pods or hiding them nicely behind the door cards...haven't decided yet, factory standard or show off styles

Also will be rewiring and running them into a 4-channel kicker amp :) and will replace the rear fusions with some Kicker and add a Rainbow or DLS subwoofer
