oh gutted :(

waited over a week for SlowWay Couriers to Deliver a parcel, turns up today round 4.45pm, thought...awesome :)

Opened up the box.  They are fake speakers, 100% counterfeits according to this thread:
http://www.teamrage.ph/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1045

Everything about them is fake!!!!

Just wondering what my options are?  I did pay through Pay Now, so I'm going to try get the seller to reverse the fee and have told him if he wants them back, he must pay shipping...because I'm not wasting my time or money for something that is fake and I don't own.

I should really report it to Trademe? because he's selling many various types of speakers and I can assume almost all are fakes...
Should I also report him to the Commerce Commission? he has thousands of good feedbacks from unsuspecting buyers, just wonder how many actually bought counterfeit goods too.  His company is also GST registered.

Any other things I should do if he doesn't comply with an email I just sent him?

contact the authorized importers as they are the only ones (via their appointment of the IP holder) that can do anything locally

Chances are they are a pretty small operation with no concept of how to handle it and dont want to pay the to do the enforcement. Its pretty bad, there were even some fake home speakers on TM a while back.

Trademe may help you directly - they did for me when my father was in a similar situation (used, advertised as 'brand new'). Up to them though.

Done :) Contacted a few of them, including the Kicker NZ office, looks like they have a direct link to the US office, so fingers crossed something will be done.  Might also contact the smaller places and dealers like Pauls Audio as well

joker97: report to police

Yep :) reporting to MED/Customs....my dad worked in Customs for 20 years and is not in charge or investigating illegal dumping and parallel imports :)  Might be a very good idea to ask him what to do as well

Just found that the anti-counterfeiting bill has passed giving more power to the police and customs too:

The Trade Marks (International Treaties and Enforcement) Amendment Bill was introduced in September last year. It allows the Ministry of Economic Development and the Customs Service to investigate and prosecute offenders involved in the manufacture, importation, and sale of illegal goods.

Yeah, I hope they will, the Buyer wants me to send it back and he'll refund me....um no, I'm not losing another $10 shipping it back, so he can sell it to another unsuspecting buyer.

Trademe should hopefully just hit the refund on my paynow and boom, I'll be able to go to a local Kicker or Infinity distributor in Wellington this time I think

Tbh yes, I did have slight doubts, since they were phased out in 2008 by Kicker.  I just thought they were old clearing stock his(RRP) is stupid, because I can't find another store which actually sells the K65.2s anymore.

Then once they arrived, I thought they looked a bit shabby, to find out that there are so many flooding the market here and people getting sucked in without realising it.  I'd rather have any cheap pair of 2-ways from Sony, JVC, Pioneer, Alpine than these overpriced pieces of cr*p eh

All sorted I think

Seller contacted me after finding either this link or the Trademe link with offer of a full refund and to keep the junk speakers...which I'll probably end up biffing or using as a paperweight but yeah

And he's removing the other listings now :)

So good ending :)

c71931f: Couldn't you just ring your bank and get them to reverse the payment..?

Yeah that was my second plan, but now I've got a spare pair of crud speakers, probably might use them stuck to the side of the BBQ for summer :P till they break

And my money is back :) plus he's trying to get his money back from the guy exporting them from China...but not too sure if that'll be easy :S

Apparently not, ever since I posted this thread, all his auctions have been bombarded with questions abuot fakes, 3 Link on google for "Trademe counterfeit"

I'm happier, I'll go buy the right set of speakers this weekend and install them...I'll give these chinese counterfeit ones a graceful life under my BBQ before they blow.  Just because they were basically Free
