Pretty sure it's a while stocks last offer and I doubt (knowing distribution) stores will have gotten in a whole heap, why not be sneaky and ring up and get one put on hold now to buy on Saturday?

Can someone SCAN and POST a copy of the Dick SMith page here showing this $99 drive ?

At the moment I'm not sure whether this is a hoax or not as it sounds too good to be true.

Here hoping ...

No esata so I think I will pass on it at this stage.

I guess they are clearing them out to make room for USB 3 drives. I got a 660 gig for $99 a while back which has firewire, USB2 and Esata on it and really fail to see why esata is a "premium" upgrade on things, it should cost less than USB does IMO.

Its true, I have the ad. Wonder if it will turn into another  Harvey Norman $288 netbook ione, as it doesn't say anything about limited stocks or rainchecks on the ad. Just says, 1 per customer.

I got one about 8 months ago for $150. $100 is an ok deal, but they are only 5400 speed and it is quite slow transferring over USB. The eSATA external drives are far better.

So many people didnt fully read my first post. The drive inside is a WD Green 10EADS which is 7200rpm.
If you need faster, rip off the casing and simply use it as an internal drive.

It doesn't say that on the advert I have got. Where does it say that?

it doesnt say its a 5400rpm drive on the advert either.
I have one of these drives, hence why i know its a 10EADS because thats the hardware ID of it.
