Just been driving around town, not much damage in the burbs, sewerage running down the road in bryndwr. By the looks of it our house came out worse for our street, the chimney is teetering with large sections missing. Cracks along footpaths and a few roads, all traffic lights are out which is making for interesting driving. Police have shut down inner city as there's a lot of damage. Missing the electric blanket right now!!!

No damage here in Dunedin, not that I know of anyway.  Christchurch is looking a bit like a war zone up there. Hope everyone is ok

It was huge. For whatever reason we're still online here in New Brighton. Massive quake. Cellphone towers might die shortly. I ran from the beach and took a camera. On the way back home I took some shots showing some of the damage to roading and a service station.

Personally we got off very lightly, no damage, no cracked walls, Plasma still on the wall :-)

We have power but no water and suspect sewerage may be a problem too.

Cheers - Neil G

My uncles house on mt pleasant has come off its piles and he's not allowed in. Seeing the pictures on the news and NZHerald online/stuff, its amazing no one was killed and more people weren't injured! Makes me sick though that people are out there looting in a time like this.
