Didn't do the online form option even though I had the chance to.

Interesting - I talked to the census collector tonight and the minimum information they will accept is name, address and ethnicity. That is all - she said anything else is a bonus.

Jama: No where on the form or in the instructions did it say that you had to answer all the questions so they got my name and address - that is it!

On the front page top right hand corner there is a note from Brian Pink (Government Statistician), It states that (Filling in census forms is required by law), Hummm now the word filling in the Readers Digest is ...to put in as much as can be held; load completely; make full. even an example was given (a form for example, by adding the necessary information completely).

Well my friend, I do know last year a person I know went to court because she didn't fill hers out at all, hope the same doesn't happen to you! It can be quite costly in the end.

But contrary to that, the form directs you to not fill out certain parts....
So by following the instructions, you certainly wont "fill the form"

filling the form by following the instruction as given... just putting in name and address does not mean you have filled out the form as instucted, Im just concerned about the implications of not marking your box (so to speak) lol

Just got citizenship granted yesterday morning, letter arrived, so couldn't say I am a New Zealander... so have to wait till the next census in 2011.

Now I'm waiting to attend the affirmative ceremony.

I haven't had my forms collected... I will probably have to send them off via the post.

Good stuff! I know it now takes forever for this to happen, so it's an accomplishment.

I wonder why so many "geeks" decided to go the paper way. Filling the three forms need for our home (dwelling + 2 personal forms) was an easy and quick task.

I probably would have done it in hindsight...

Personally was put off due to internet security in the past (ie. unsecure servers), the task of getting the flatmates to do them, and additionally I liked the old method of filling out the forms.

I did mine on the internet, it's far easier to fill and understand than the paper form. It grey out the area you don't need to fill in.

I think I'm lucky that two flatmates are on holiday in Fiji, so only 1 dwelling form and 1 for me.
