I don't have any space to host a mirror =(

Has anyone watched the TED about how wikileaks are essential? It's really good. It is an interview of the guy who started it all.

People need to know important information like this. Without knowing, we are all in the deep slumber of ignorance. How can the world be made a better place when everyone is sleeping?

It wasn't like the more dramatic revelations were hard to guess or anything, and has definitely confirmed the suspicions of radical militants in some of the more unstable countries. Wikileaks could have a deal with CIA too since they haven't disappeared already; sometimes the Americans seem to like publicising embarrasing info without being blamed. Its still wrong because they have abused the trust of apparently friendly countries, unless those countries requested info to be leaked. I hope it doesnt backfire and start another war -- or maybe that was the objective to let some silly guy get blamed for it all?

Time to find a new industry!

The info is US-only info....so not sure how the trust of any other country has been abused. It isn't their info.

The US failed to make sure anyone else's information was secure.

There seems to be a fallacy afoot that an Australian or a Kiwi or a Bolivian or a Zambian should be protecting US information.

No. Not a bit. Not even close.

The Wikileaks documents highlight the extent to which we've all been treated like mushrooms: kept in the dark and fed.....manure.

I think  what many people have now realised is that what we are told about the world by our governments and the media can be wildly out of line with what the world is really like in detail.

These cables have highlighted how very big that gap is.

In a democracy, to make sense of our world and vote for the people we think will run our bit of it best, surely we MUST know what is really going on.....

Thank you to Wikileaks. You've certainly opened my eyes.....

CADMAX: I think that Wiki leeks are doing the would of good for the US people. i note that papers over there are not publishing any of the information. i have also heard that schools are telling students not to look at the site as they may not get jobs when they leave school. i do know that most of what has come to light so far was well known around the white house.

i think that people must know what is happening in there home land in order for them to have a open idea of there leader and the government.

just my 2 cents :)

The US has long ceased to be a beacon of freedom or democracy......They are, today, closer to Hitler's Germany in the early 1930s.

Just wait until the oil price doubles and their economy crashes in a heap of unpayable debts because millions have lost their jobs.

There will almost certainly be an American - defacto - dictator. All the powers are in place now.....just waiting for the wrong guy with blind support from his minions. A dumb-ass sarah palin and her Tea Party fascists defending freedom by snuffing it out......that sounds about right. If not her then the next idiot.

It's the end of an empire...and we get to watch.

i know they just keep printing the green. i see the NZD dropped a little this morning then came back.
i think the US is in the same boat as some of the EU country and will end up as a third world country with in 5 years (economy wise).

over all whats your view about what Wikileaks are doing?

In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.
