I saw on the morning news on TV3 a story about Jason Bright having a "prescription windshield" for his V8. They even had a shot of him in team meetings with a couple of guys holding up a windshield so he could use it there too. They said that his co-driver for Bathurst would need special "reversing" goggles to counter the prescription effect. This had all the hallmarks of an April Fools Day prank, I roared with laughter. But midday came and went, and they were still playing the story on the news later that day, though I haven't seen it anywhere else. No-one's admitted it's a prank, though...

I'm no scientist by any means, but I would have thought a prescription windshield would be too impractical to make work, and the idea of making goggles which reverse the effect for a different driver to be laughable - if you can make such googles, then why not just make those googles prescription for the first driver?

Is it just me?

It was an April Fools, and a very good one at that. Lots of people fell for it (including myself)
