It was not snow. It was a mix of sleety hail.

Snow floats on air currents.

I know snow, having lived in scandinavia.

I also know snow having spent most of my varsity life at Temple Basin.

It's snowing heavily in Johnsonville again. We just finished making our snowman, but came inside now because it's getting to the point where you get snowed under...

OK, I haven't lived in scandinavia but I have lived in Auckland and we've had our fair share of hail and sleet. I don't know if this was snow or not, but it definitely floated. It didn't last all that long and it did transition back to hail at some point.

Edit: Bummer, metservice reckon it was just graupel, not snow. Who knew graupel could float too?

I agree. That video didn't look like snow. My photos didn't look like snow. The problem is that the video or camera focuses on the background so that anything in the foreground is blurred.

It just briefly (2-3 minutes) snowed here in Whakatane. We all went running outside into it :P
