What's the difference between an Eisbein and a Schweinshaxe? Always thought they were two (regional) names for the same thing.

Sounds like an extremely heavy-duty meal...

You'd want to be pretty hungry before ordering it. A good winter-time main course after a hard day on the piste...

Hi,

the difference between Eisbein and Schweinshaxe is: Eisbein is pickeld and boiled Schweinshaxe (baierisch) is roasted

Wunderbar! I will pay a visit too when I will be in Wellington again.
Hungarian goulash.... yummie, it's good to have some home taste, I hope your goulash is very good
But be careful I will compare it with my mom's goulash :)

BTW there is a German restaurant in Auckland as well (the one and only if I am right)
