oxnsox: Don't think they've been there for a few years (it's now an Indian Take-away).  When they were selling it  they told me they were moving over your side of the hill.....

It would have been a year or so ago since i was last there, that is a shame as they were the closet thing to a decent burger, damn! If they are here in Blenheim i havn't found them, well not as a gourmet burger place.

We already have an obesity problem in New Zealand, why add fuel to the fire.

stevenz: If you're in Nelson then check out Tasty Buggers in Bridge Street off Trafalgar.

You need to visit more often, they have been shut for.... Hell a year?

They were certainly there on labour weekend just gone.   You thinking of the same place?  Across the road from Dick Smiths.

That Murder Burger help-wanted poster is brilliant.

It's called free-will.  Just because some people are stupid enough to eat junk food every day of the week, that doesn't mean that those who have it once a month should have to be disadvantaged because of them.

By disadvantaged I mean not being able to have a variety of choices of which form of tasty animal-derived meat product betwixt 2 buns, possibly with sesame seeds, lettuce, tomato and beetroot, possibly without, that they'd like to consume as their rare treat.

If they're going to eat rubbish all the time anyway, then adding more options won't make any difference unless the additional options become their preferences and are significantly more weighty in the caloric department.

Couldn't have said it better! I wont rehash what you just said but i agree fully. Yes there is a problem with obesity in New Zealand (as with the rest of the world) but its upto the individual and there own personal choices.
Some of the worst burgers are already in the market, look at McDonalds Boss burger or Bk's Double whopper.

I am going to be going to Carl Jnrs in Auckland City next week, apparently they're the best burgers in NZ. We'll have to see if that's true!

Also, Burger Fuel is my personal preference, a little expensive compared to BK and McDonalds but taste so much better!

You cannot have Burger Fuel and those other two in the same comparison

Yeah I know, but those are really the only burger places I go to.

When you consider the volume of food that you get its not really that expensive. McDonalds' burgers are very small despite how they look in their advertising.

"You are" = "You're" - Not "Your". "They are" = "They're" - Not "Their" or "There". You probably mean "lose" not "loose".

@ stevenz
thanks for your sig or is it you're? lol anyways be surprised how many times I get that wrong, I think its embedded in my brain that I will probably still get it wrong. As a kid I use to stutter badly no longer do and I use to pronounce some words wrong like instead saying Lady I would say Wady. At school I would get Hey say lady again.... Wady then they be ROFL. Pricks! Thankfully when I hit my teens I was cured from that. I still have issues with their and there and your and you're, sigh.

Anyways back on topic

There's already two Carl Jr's in NZ. My understanding is that these will be run by a different company though.

One of those two is on my street. I've been there twice, and it's not bad.

Someone has to compare them otherwise many people wouldn't know there was a difference.Wink

Just look how some comments lump all takeaways in the evil obesity-inducing category.

So "Qu'ils mangent de la brioche".

Whatever they are left with to eat after taxing, forbidding or otherwise preventing access to so called unhealthy foods they they will continue to stuff enough of it down their gullets to stay overweight.
