Restaurant Brands will be building and operating Carl Jr's.
I wonder how it will cope with the glut of Burger resturants already.  As far as I know, there is Burger Wisconsin, Burger Fuel, Angus Burger (Dunedin Only), Velvet Burger, McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's.

I have probably missed a couple.  And then we wonder why NZers are getting bigger.

Hi,

I think you will find that Michael Jones (ex All Black) is part owner of the first Carls Jr outlet that opened in  Takinini, Auckland in about July/August this year.

I suspect that Resturant Brands has since decided to take on the NZ licence.

I miss them too, such great burgers!

From all accounts, Carl Jr's is very popular in Auckland so far. Parents went there last week, lunch rush was quite big, and really nice food.

I wish them well, it is not easy starting a new business in another country with established burger places!

Have not tried the Auckland branch, but the one in Singapore is tasty and always packed with customers.

Burger Fuel = Cheaper+Better than Wisconsin.
Wendy's > Burger King > McDonalds

Local fish+chip shop burgers > all

Redstar in wanaka are superior to Fergburger which inturn beats Burgerfuel. There's nothing wrong with the odd burger, sure if your eating them weekly its not a very healthy option, its about education. I personally love burgers and i welcome any contenders! However this will be another chain that will be limited to the North Island as well. I can't fathom how Burger fuel have not opened one store in the south island, yet they have gone to Australia and Saudi arabia of all places!!! what the heck is going on.
Also Reels in Stoke Nelson make a good gourmet burger if your in the vicinity.

Don't think they've been there for a few years (it's now an Indian Take-away).  When they were selling it  they told me they were moving over your side of the hill.....
