I've been listening this week at work... LOVE IT!
Hauraki started playing too much new crap, this solves the problem... and from midnight to 3pm, it's just brilliant!

They have changed the name when I just tuned in on the phone. still a changing PS tho. :( Why the hell are broadcasters allowed to do that crap?

Hauraki has gone to sh*t since their 'makeover' about 12-15 months ago, way too much grunge which I can't stand.

Never listened much to the old Solid Gold, was about 1/2 a generation too old-fashioned for me, but have been listening to the Sound since I first read this thread on the weekend and am now converted. Feels a bit like Classic Hits was about 8-9 years ago, but without the drivel.

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

I'm liking it as well.

But their customer service is crap.

I sent them an email on the 6th asking about AT40 (see discussion earlier in this thread) and they haven't bothered to reply!

I've been following this thread and must confess to getting a bit lost. Please enlighten me, who/what is AT40?

Ah, thank you. So my next question - American Top 40 of what exactly, on a certain date way back whenever?

Given the station's genre and audience, I'm assuming it's not the current singles chart.

The show ran through the 70s with Kasey Kasim and his silky voice. I used to listen to him every Sunday on 4XO in Dunedin and twice a day when it was on Solid Gold. :)

I have just written to The Sound thanking them for the Solid Gold years but I'm just not getting The Sound. For sure they are playing the same 70s music but there is just too much 80s stuff for me and I miss the announcers that made SG "my" station.

I've found 181FM on Tunein Radio and I'm loving it. Having said that I miss the gang at Solid Gold and internet radio has no news or weather. Actually The Sound doesn't have much either, 3 news items and 2 sports stories the other day when we were coming home in the car.

Have you tried Coast FM? I think they are moving more into the old Solid Gold territory...

Hey bazzer, no I haven't but might give it a try if they stream. Living here in the mountains radio reception is patchy at best so rely on the net.

Had two cousins pop in last week and they have both switched from Solid Gold/The Sound to Coast. Thanks for the tip.

For those that want to find out where/when AT40 is playing on the internet somewhere in the world - I found this site a while ago.

AT40 for the 70's is under 'Retro' shows.

I still see they are listing Solid Gold.

I have used this site once before to tune in to a Perth station playing the show - just to test how reliable the sites soruces were.
