Not much of an online shopper so thought id give it a go.

...

I am going to say a bust, wasted of $100.   Ah well, live and learn.   Probably first and last time, will stick to buying in NZ so I can see exactly what I'm buying.

I've found clothing products, especially knock offs/replicas are really hit and miss. I actually can't fathom how anyone buys shoes online (unless it's a model and size they've worn previously). But I am pretty fussy about shoe fit.

I'm seriously tempted to give it a go. My NZ made boots are now $299, which I think is an absurd price for a pair of shoes.

On an unrelated note... Aramex. They managed to deliver a package to my neighbour this evening, but no sign of my package that has been with the courier since 8:48 this morning. Not holding my breath on receiving that one before the weekend.

We are heading to the States next year, we will be stocking up of shoes and clothes, much cheaper and better quality than you can get here in NZ has been our experience.

Not just an Aliexpress thing, I agree. Without being able to try things on it's very hit and miss. Also without being able to judge fabric quality.

Aliexpress sizes tend to be over stated as well. I once got goalie gloves = "medium" and my 9 year old could barely get them on his hands.

A few days ago my two Tuya Zigbee Fingerbots (Model TS0001_fingerbot) arrived.  I also bought the optional toolpack.  I now have the first one connected up and working with Home Assistant to power my FiiO Q7 DAC/Headphone Amp on and off.

Ordered 3 small items from Aliexpress on the 22nd, they arrived on the 28th.. extremely impressed. ALL the parcels I had ordered from Aliexress in December turned up well before they said they would (last lot predicted January 17th 2024)

Ordered a tool chest from Wellington on the 22nd, checked today (30th) and I am told its another 7+ working days for the delivery company to deliver it (they collected it on the 22nd), this from a company that touted its logistics etc etc etc.

If my wife had not just had her knee replaced I would have gone down to pick it up myself, it would obviously been far faster, but also cheaper.

I got many sets of these lights thru the choice deals - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005787992029.html

If you browse things a lot, then go into the $1.99USD deals area, they will appear there with a lower price often which is how I got them for US$2.99 each free shipping.

They are allegidly WS2812 compatible, and I cant find them for that cheap even without the controller/remote anywhere.

So go for it for next years xmas.

A while ago I got this thingie, a USB stick MP3 player, which uses FM to get audio into my JDM stereo.

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005221510662.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.57.12fb1802pHO8I3

It works pretty well except for one annoying behaviour. I listen to a lot of long files, an hour or more, and this thing restarts the file when you restart the car.

There's only so many times you can listen to the start of something.

Does anyone have a similar FM player that resumes mid-track?

$130 SM50 Baby Monitor. Was supposed to arrive in March but just received today (7 days after ordering). According to quite a few Aussie parents on Reddit, it's a Tweetycam without all of the stickers/labelling.

Don't pay any attention to estimated dates. The shipping method will determine how long a package will take to arrive.

E.g. AliExpress Standard will take 1-4 weeks depending on the logistics chosen, usually around 2 weeks.

I’m still finding Aliexpress Standard Shipping to be the best it’s ever been. My most recent 10 packages (over the last 3-4 months) have averaged 7-10 days from shipping to delivery.

Modulo random delays in shipping (before Chinese new year, where some places would take just short of the auto-refund period to actually ship) and now just overall delays in shipping due to Chinese new year. What's really annoying is that the two low-priority replacement items I ordered are already in NZ while the more urgent stuff I needed hasn't even shipped yet, including one that's getting close to its auto-refund time (see above).

@Mark are you using this with plex in a docker container? Did it passthrough easy enough?
