Eva888: This morning an advert for sign language on channel three featuring a policeman in the background wrestling with what appears to be a dishevelled possibly homeless person while constantly yelling for help from policeman 2 who is calmly standing in the foreground extolling the virtues of learning sign language. He finished the spiel and went back to help the other policeman subdue the man and take him away.

Watching the background tussle between the police and the man was disturbing, irrelevant and did nothing to encourage learning sign language. Who dreams up such adverts.

The two Police are actors from a comedy series "Wellington Paranormal". Policeman 2, Officer O'Leary is female, the homeless person is a zombie.

Wellington Paranormal is not something I watch and probably neither do a lot of other people so it didn't come across funny at all. Still irrelevant to marry sign language week to a scenario of police roughing someone up.

Roughing someone up? He's having trouble with a zombie, by the looks. It's comedy.

Here's the requisite public service announcement:

Also it wasn't a person, it was a zombie, if they hadn't roughed it up Wellington would be overrun by flesh-eating zombies by now and half of GZ would be drafted into manning some sort of defensive line in the Bombay Hills. And imagine what Christmas would have been like if they hadn't cleared up that Santa/Satan mixup.

Poor ad-design that doesn't take account of window/screen sizes and scrolling.

The actual wording is: "Let the government know you support Modern Slavery law."

Incompetent organisations -

Water Safety NZ used to rant about how we were the worst for drowning in the OECD. Official figures put us at 13th out of 35. About half way. The director said he had some Chinese bloke research it and said 9th. Oh really.

I pointed out that if WSNZ was really competent they'd do as OECD countries with low drown rates do, simple enough, remove the coastline as Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland. have done.

They stopped mentioning OECD countries after that and the director stepped down.

Car radios used to be a steal-able item. Now every vehicle has a radio and they also now have anti-theft lockouts. The only thing that does is annoy someone who has changed their battery and now the radio won't work.

How to fix? Look on the web for instructions. So how does that stop theft?

Yes, had to fix someone's non-going radio a few months ago.

Dunedin couple told to stop sending money to Ukraine via Eftpos machine

“…Looking Good Alterations co-owner Sergiy Gumenjuk said that when he and his wife Alina Polkova heard of the conflict back home they immediately thought to send money to help out.

The quickest and most efficient way to transfer money was using the Eftpos machine at their store.

To do this he entered the number for a Ukrainian credit card and used the refund option, which would send the money almost instantly with no fee.…”

eracode said, "I didn't realise Luxembourg and Switzerland used to have a coastline." and loydbloke said, "I didn't realise Belgium's coastline had been removed."

They will get a coastline back with global warming.

If lower drown rates is due to lack of coastline, then WSNZ should remove our one to save the nation... logically.

Belgium has only just enough coast for a few people to go for a swim.
