Zoolander 2 - Sky Movies.

Started watching this movie not expecting much and received even less. Possibly one of the worst 'comedies' I think I have ever seen. The only thing of note was the huge list of characters who played "themselves" in the credits.
Glad I didn't pay $15 to see this howler at the movies.

0/5.

If you like The Long Good Friday you should try Get Carter with Michael Caine.

Just watched 'Blue Jasmine' with Cate Blanchett and Alec Baldwin (amongst other very capable actors) and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

'Enjoyed' as in realizing after an hour that we hadn't moved our positions on the sofa :-)

A brilliant, fairly lighthearted look at relationships and consequences. Cate deserves an Oscar.

Finally watched Suicide Squad.

What an utterly terrible movie. 2/10.

Miss Peregrines home for peculiar children

I enjoyed it more than most Tim Burton movies, but don't let your kids watch it - serious nightmare material for them.

Yes this movie is very much deserving of the PG rating it got.  Two of our (many) boys found it be a little scary at times but after a bit they were fine.

Deadpool wasn't too bad but it was very raunchy. It might be a Marvel franchise but it's way OTT for sex and language. Makes you wonder who the target audience (what's the buzzword? Demographic?) is for this stuff. Probably 10-year-olds. Gawd.

Still, when a young girl in a church in 'Bridget Jones' Baby' gets away with loudly asking her late-arriving mother (?) "Where the f*** have you been?!", what do you expect?

I think Trump is a prize ratbag but if he can arrest the deterioration of standards that we see all around us every day, he'd get my vote for re-election in 2020.

It did get an R16 rating - I believe they didn't even the PG or PG-13 ratings when making. this fact was an issue between the studio on one side and Ryan Renyolds and the directors on the other side.

I enjoyed Deadpool as an adult comedy.

K, I'm not sure what you meant here:

"It did get an R16 rating - I believe they didn't even the PG or PG-13 ratings when making. this fact was an issue between the studio on one side and Ryan Renyolds and the directors on the other side."

Can you illumine, please?

Yes, it was a good adult comedy, but I wonder how many 'kiddies' (6 - going on 18) watched it.

R16 means restricted to 16 year olds an over. So unless parents bought it for their kids they shouldn't have been able to watch it. They absolutely wouldn't have been allowed to see it at the theatres regardless of what their parents said.

Well, actually, I was asking what this meant:

"I believe they didn't even the PG or PG-13 ratings when..."

I mean, didn't even what?

Also, was Ryan Reynolds in favor of the OTT script or was he critical?

I believe the missing word is consider. He was in favour of it being restricted as that is true to the character. Deadpool has always been OTT and Ryan Reynolds is a huge fan.
