eracode:NZH today: “Hipkins has not spoken to any other world leaders since it was announced he would become prime minister. The only leader he has spoken to is Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.”

Apparently NZH thinks the Aussie PM doesn’t count as a world leader.

/Cynical Mode On: To be fair, on past performance, the current Aussie PM may not still be in charge by the time you've got and dialled his (her) number! /Cynical Mode Off!

You couldn't manage punctuate this in any way Stuff? Or even pop an "is" in there, just to make this a little more understandable..

It's almost like they're doing it deliberately at this point. To quote (from memory) a line from a movie: "We need to get to Hollywood so I can rescue my ex-girlfriend who was killed in a car explosion's monkey!"

I've heard of sleep walking and sleep talking.  Sleep homicide is a new one.  Could that be a valid defence?  Sorry your honour, I was asleep at the time.

NZH headline this morning: “Community support for flood affected”.

I really wonder how support for the flood has been affected by the community.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

RNZ: "A became who person trapped after their property collapsed..."

RNZ also reported that the red status was lifted for the Western BOP, and repeated this "fact" a few times throughout the day. Meanwhile Metservice, BOP Civil Defence and even Stuff all still reported it as being in place. Now RNZ is saying that the Metservice has issued a red warning even though it's been active all day.

It sounds American but I know that Australia had an "American phase" at one point (I remember reading about it while visiting "Victor Harbor" near Adelaide).

I believe it's the same reason.
