Really enjoyed the latest season of Taskmaster (UK) - I only knew two of the contestants going in, but they were all great. I've never seen the hosts laughing so much either.

I was similarly unfamiliar with some of the contestants, but they turned out to be a mad and quite hilarious bunch.

Agree - have never seen Greg and Little Alex Horne laugh so much in any season, like they have in this one.

Have you seen the line up for S14? Looks good - Dara Ó Briain, Fern Brady, John Kearns, Munya Chawawa and Sarah Millican.

Also, the Taskmaster NZ S3 line up looks Ok too - will give it a watch (Chris Parker, Josh Thomson, Justine Smith, Kura Forrester, and Paul Ego).

The Terminal on Amazon Prime.

The interesting idea at first glance, but it's hard going even in ep 1. I fell asleep watching it, though admittedly I was very tired. I'll persist for one more episode, but then if it's no good I'm going to bail on it.

Have been watching the latest season of Umbrella Academy on Netflix.

It's been a little confusing, as it was a while since I saw the last season, but I am still enjoying it.

Up to episode 9.

Just finished it (episode 10). Stick around for the post credit scene.

Probably more confusing than the other seasons but I managed to follow it, sort of. Lots of unanswered questions.

Ending wasn't as clean as the previous seasons so hopefully there's a season 4.

I still enjoyed it - also liked the new characters introduced and hope some of them stick around. I quite liked the Sparrows although they never really explained what Christopher was. He was just weird.

I really like Five (umbrella five that is) and noticed that tried to sidestep his real life growth spurt with camera angles and also him wearing pants instead of shorts.

Resident Evil TV series Netflix. 7/10. 8 episodes. I am not a zombie fan. This has more of a J.G Ballard scifi feeling. Excellent pace slacks a bit in ep6 and 8. Can't wait for a second series. I really hope they have one in the works. It will be hard to match the quality.

I have just completed a few series.

Most notably:

Ms Marvel (Disney +) I warmed to it eventually, but it had a very Disney feel to it - like it was aimed at the young audience and in particular the young South Asian market - weirdly, it was very heavily focused on the Pakistani Muslim community that they were part of, but few female characters were wearing headwear or acting in the "oppressed" manner we in the west would expect.

They also mentioned the Partition a lot. I had to google it. I had no idea that it was called that - simply that there was a separation of India and Pakistan some time ago. It didn't really seem central to the story, so interesting that there was a lot of talk about it. Still not a massive fan of the show, though. 6/10 at best.

Upload - both seasons (Prime Video) I really enjoyed this one. It was light-hearted and easy entertainment, but had some interesting nods to how the near future could look - quite funny and also sometimes a little mushy.

7/10 for this one, from me.

Obi-Wan Kenobi (Disney+)  - again - I warmed to this one after a slow start. Great production, well acted and it felt very much a Star Wars movie in multiple parts. 7/10

Only Murders In The Building (Disney+) It's still going and I am loving it. Great characters, funny and ridiculous. Good chemistry and some interesting cameos. 8/10

My wife and I are enjoying Only Murders in the building too. It's something you have to watch and focus on or you miss little things.

Upload S1 I really enjoyed. I haven't managed to get into S2 yet.

Travellers.  I am really enjoying this so far.

Watching Big Bang with the kids. I forgot how much sex was in it, I don't really recall it being that way. Has raised some interesting questions from the kids.

I'm sure your family would have a lot to say about an event that resulted in the death or permanent loss of family members.  Jews still talk about the Holocaust.  NZers still talk about the Anzac's.  New Yorkers still talk about 9/11...so on.  To say it's not central to the story means you missed half the story.

Totally, but as an adult most of that stuff just flys right by me, I enjoy it and move on. With kids it's a whole other thing needing to be aware :)

I loved Travellers. Was sad when it ended. Felt like they could've gone another season.

The Old Man on Disney+ really enjoying it. Kind of wished I came to it in a few weeks time as it's one of those that drops an episode a week and I'd like to binge it.

Binged through The Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix, which I enjoyed as well. They have announced a second season of that too, which is good.

I always confuse the main character with Aaron Hotchner from Criminal Minds :)

Don't get me wrong - it didn't offend me - in fact it educated me  - A LOT. As I said - I had to google it, so I could work out what they were talking about.

It just didn't feel like a very "Marvel" way of bringing it into the story. I feel like they could have maybe not spent so much time talking about it and maybe a little more time developing the overall story and why that was important to the story arcs.

As I say - I came away educated on the matter, so if that was the goal, they very much succeeded.
