We applied online on 6th January 2021 and earlier we received an email requesting further information plus a link to do an identity check, we tried to do the photo be it won't work and after 3 or 4 attempts in says exceeded attempts. Anyone else had this problem?

have yet to reach that part mate. I applied on the 9th of January online...

You should hear from a case officer anytime now as our application was done 6th January. It's great they are finally on 2021 applications now.

Just quick update, My Friend applied online on first week of January 2021 online , today he got confirmation details email from DIA. :D :D

ZhuInNZ: Just got an email from DIA saying that they will print my certificate on 14 Nov and send it to me within 4 weeks.

In that email it says all ceremonies will be cancelled while any part of the country is at Level 2 or above.

Hope you get an email soon!!!

Why do they wait until the 14th of Nov to print your cert?

Wonder how does it work in DIA - that a newly developed system takes 3 times more processing time than the earlier system. Is that an achievement in any normal systems IT practice?

Can understand Covid lockdown issues with the paperwork. Haven't seen any clear replies from the DIA on that one on fyi too.

Meanwhile haven't heard yet about Jan paper submissions.

Yes , apparently they was using system while it is still development which mean there is bugs or and incomplete feature not yet fully tested , therefore slow them down, this is my speculation

And Reason they did that because Covid and close border so they thought no one need to travel now , they can use it as excuse , so let's try use new system even before finish it. This is could be the reason. Because usually you will not start use any new system until it is fully developed and tested and of course it will cut cost or time for you not increase time.

In 2019 avg procced application was 2600 per month ,in 2021 Jan until July(no lockdown except one week in Auckland) avg 1600 per month

Yea they seem pretty slower at the moment. Hopefully you hear something soon. We applied online in January and are yet to hear anything still.

on a separate note, wondering if anybody else has heard anything recently?

Was checking this site for the ceremony https://wellington.govt.nz/community-support-and-resources/citizenship-ceremonies

Reached out to the number given in the above site to check whether there will be any ceremony in Welly. Received the below response today.

I am writing to you regarding your Citizenship Ceremony.

With the ongoing uncertainty of changing Alert levels around the country due to the spread of the Delta variant the decision has been made that all ceremonies will be cancelled while any part of the country is at Alert Level 2 or above.

As ceremonies cannot proceed due to COVID, you will become a citizen on the date your certificate is printed with no requirement to attend a ceremony.

Your certificate is due to be printed on 26 November 2021. The certificate(s) will be couriered to you however this could take up to 4 weeks from the date your certificate is printed.

If your mailing address has changed could you please let us know by replying to this email including your full name, reference number (if known) and new address.

Child Under the Age of 16

If you have a child under the age of 16 and you have previously advised us of an address change for yourself and the child could you please let us know again what the new address is.

We have identified some other instances where we have not correctly updated the address for the child.

Ok, I started with the passport application. It asks for a Citizenship certificate number, so have to wait until it comes home.

Congrats, that's great news. Within 10 working days, you should receive the approval email.
