Had a fantastic night and took away a prize of pizza vouchers! I've had my fill of pizza for a wee while (4-5 slices) but look forward to using these later with the family - something to make Geekzone pizza night last much longer.

It was great to meet the fellow geeks from the Wellington area.

Thanks to Mauricio, the sponsors and all others who made this such a great night.

In AKL? The girls were mainly the partners. In WLG we had a couple, but most of the girls registered in CHC. Go figure...

My gawd, sooo much tasty pizza.  Big ups to the sponsors, and thanks heaps for the new keyboard & Mouse.

For them what were wondering, it's an alienware TactX keyboard & mouse....  v. hawt.  Can't decide what colours to paint the keys though.....

My thanks too to Mauricio for the event (again). Also thanks to all the sponsors. Was great to catch up with some I knew, and others that were new.

Thanks for the great night Mauricio.

The venue was great and the pizza was yummy.

The reaction from the crowd when Gary asked if anyone wanted vegetarian pizza the reaction was amazing (silence followed by laughter :)).

I think it is interesting to see the very narrow demographic we attract. Few women, no vegetarians (or were they just being quiet?). New Zealand IT in general suffers from lack of expertise, and one reason is lack of women entering the profession.

We had a chap at our table who did ask for vegetarian pizza. I've forgotten his name already, but he was with Bruce.

But yes geeks + pizza + MORE MEATS is a fairly accurate stereotype in general ;-)

Yes great night. Thanks to Mauricio and the various sponsors for the Wellington event. Only just back in reliable connection-land again. Greytown doesn't have great 3G coverage does it.

The Wellington geekzone pizza evening demographic was definitely a subset of IT people.

I don't see the link between "lack of expertise" and gender and I don't accept that New Zealand IT suffers from a lack of expertise but if we're going to discuss this we'd better start a new thread instead of hijacking this one. Tongue Out

Lovely to hear you all enjoyed yourselves.

Maybe one year I'll be able to make it, boost the Girl numbers, etc etc - no the pizza with the meat on it please!

Might have to gain a few more tech skills first though ;)

<- don't ask me where I am - I haven't a clue: its a tech thing ;)
Housewife computerer: not particularly great at either.
And don't take me too seriously.

No need for tech skills to meet and greet!
