freitasm:

On that note I want to watch Underworld: Blood Wars this weekend...

I hope you changed your mind and gave it a miss. It really was awful.

Actually watched Underworld: Blood Wars during the weekend and give it a 6/10 - IMDB average is currently at 5.8...

The story is ok (it makes the whole saga clearer) but the acting a bit meh. Specifically I think Kate Beckinsale role should change from now (seeing how the movie ends).

robertsona: Google Earth's feature tracing Saroo's actual journey:

Completely off-topic; but clearly the "new" Google Earth is going to cause many people pain.  I don't normally use Chrome as my browser; and the page fairly bluntly said that Chrome was mandatory; so I load chrome and try again only to be told my computer doesn't support WebGL and therefore nothing would work.  This is a fairly modern laptop too.  I guess Google just don't want people using their new products...

End of off-topic rant....

Lots of movies I have watched during my long flights lately.

1) Chips - Terrible, Garbage, completely destroyed my memory of the original series. I can't say enough bad things about it. 1/10

2) The Great Wall. Better than I expected, was an easy way to lose two hours 7/10

3) The Accountant - Not what I expected, I like Ben Affleck 7/10

4) Resident Evil something - ok, 6/10

5) Get Out - Very Interesting, Enjoyed it. Wasn't fantastic, but good enough 7/10

Will Update when I recall the rest. Too Jetlagged to think straight.

^Mostly agree with 1, 2, but I think 5 is excellent!

We watched The Belko Experiment on the weekend.  Kind of a Battle Royale in an office building.  It doesn't take itself too seriously, so I would recommend it as a bit of fun on a rainy day.

I've kept away from the cinema for the last month as there has been nothing of interest (unless you are a fan of the endless stream of superhero movies or transformers) ... but I'm looking forward to:

  • The War for the Planet of the Apes (next week)
  • Both Dunkirk, and Baby Driver (the week following).

Finally, the end of the drought is near!

Spiderman - Homecoming - Disappointed, I really enjoyed the previous few but the new actor doesn't do it for me. I know it's from when he was young, but the movie was SLOW and there was really only one decent action scene IMO. 5/10

Terminator 9/10 An oldie but goodie with Arnie in his element.

I haven't watched this for quite a long time but it still holds up amazingly well even after more than 30 years.

Saw Spideman Homecoming - good amount of humour. Good acting from the lead actors and major supporting cast. Pace was slightly inconsistent but overall a decent flick. 7.5/10

Spider-Man: Homecoming - Lots of humour and quite enjoyable. Although I almost feel like it was a mistake for them to introduce the character in last years Captain America: Civil War because in that movie he was shown to be easily a match against Captain America and the Winter Soldier, but for this one they seemed to down play his abilities and make him a less capable amateur to better serve the story. 7/10
