kingdragonfly: Back to the Catholics, to point out the obvious, Catholic priests are expected to adhere to a vow of celibacy, which means they are not supposed to have children.

A thousand-year-old piece of pointless baggage that came about through concern that bishops would found dynasties if they were allowed to live normal married lives.  Orthodox churches have always had married clergy (and in general are way closer to Jesus' teachings than the big business that the Catholic church turned into), how many child/sex abuse scandals have they had in comparison to the Catholics?

This TM listing for a 1971 two new pence coin, mintage figure 1.5 billion (not million, billion), for just under $1,000.  This led to a rabiit-hole of multi-thousand dollar eBay listings (and more on etsy and other places) for very well-circulated coins all worth, um, two pence.

The only thing I can think of is a money-laundering scheme of some kind.

Delusional seller. The Royal Mint doesn’t remove legal coins from circulation unless damaged. Expected life of a coin 40 years doesn’t mean anything older gets removed.

Russia says $20 decillion fine against Google is ‘symbolic’: The Guardian

The Kremlin has said that Russia’s huge fines imposed on Google were largely symbolic and designed to spur the US tech company into lifting restrictions on Russian YouTube channels.

The total sum of legal claims against Google in Russia has reached two undecillion roubles ($20 decillion), according to the Russian news outlet RBK, a figure higher than all the money in the world combined.
...
Since launching its Ukraine offensive in February 2022, Russia has levied huge fines on social media companies accused of hosting Kremlin-critical or pro-Ukraine content.

YouTube is still available in Russia but authorities have repeatedly threatened to take it offline over its bans on state-owned Russian content.

Russian courts have repeatedly fined YouTube’s owner, Google, in an attempt to force the tech company into compliance, with the legal costs multiplying each day it fails to carry out Moscow’s demands.

Dr Evil One Million Dollars Gif

"I regret to say that we of the F.B.I. are powerless to act in cases of oral-genital intimacy, unless it has in some way obstructed interstate commerce." — J. Edgar Hoover

"Create a society that values material things above all else. Strip it of industry. Raise taxes for the poor and reduce them for the rich and for corporations. Prop up failed financial institutions with public money. Ask for more tax, while vastly reducing public services. Put adverts everywhere, regardless of people's ability to afford the things they advertise. Allow the cost of food and housing to eclipse people's ability to pay for them. Light blue touch paper." — Andrew Maxwell

That there's actually a word that the Americas pronounce correctly while we get it wrong: advertisement.  It's advertise-ment, not advertiss-mnt.

That's too many zeroes, I get bored reading them. It's time for that story to switch to scientific notation.

That's weird but probably falls under the category 'even a stopped clock is correct twice a day'.

Actually, I think Americans are also correct with caribb-ean instead of car-eebee-ann ( I prefer it anyways).
