Websites that redirect to a "localised" site rather than the US/International version. My particular bugbear is with gizmodo.com. In NZ it redirects to gizmodo.com.au. A while ago there was a "fix" where if you typed in us.gizmodo.com it would deliver the US version, but even that doesn't work now unless you view the site in Incognito Mode. And now the Facebook posts are also redirecting to the Australian stories. I saw a FB post for a Gizmodo story but when I clicked on it the story it showed was a completely different one on the Australian page.

It really bugs me when websites won't just return what they're asked for. The Aussie version of Gizmodo is far less interesting and doesn't have the same stories. Why would it insist on showing me less information simply because I live in a different country. Geoblocking of streaming sites is one thing, but geoblocking general websites is ridiculous.

I was driving down to Wellington from Taupo once in a heavy storm. Thunder, lightening, driving rain - the whole nine yards.

It was simply unsafe to even consider doing more than 70 with all that and the standing water.

Some fool blew past me doing at least 100 if not more, towing a large boat with a car full of kids.

How some people can have such little regard for their own safety and that of others never ceases to amaze me. Just to arrive ten minutes earlier? Insane.

I'm only surprised that the road toll isn't a lot higher, with these kind of tuckwits on the roads. Sheer dumb luck I guess.

It is a case of not driving to the conditions. I've seen examples many times before, eg, heading down the kaimais in fog and rain at night, and having people wanting to do the limit. At the time it was 100kph, and no way is this speed safe even in dry conditions.

The only amazing thing is that the road toll is not higher.

I try (admittedly don't always succeed) to think for the other drivers because you never know what their capabilities are and I don't like getting hit anywhere. Try to anticipate potential situations up ahead and give the driver behind lots of warnings by gradually slowing and pumping the brake lights if necessary. Keep an eye on the mirror and if they don't slow down look for an escape route. I have known people who follow the rules but don't feel responsibility for the mistakes of others. I would rather be safe than right. I am happy to do whatever it takes to avoid an accident. If that means giving way to an idiot, I don't have a problem with it.
